CorenSV in the post "Lesson 5: Drawing Animals"

Earliest homework I got is somewhere april 2015. So I'm nearly 3 years in with this. Though I did take a few long breaks in between. So it sounds more impressive than it is.

Just take it as a good job on your part on how you build the lessons. They're good enough to keep people coming back and engaged for years at a time! (or I'm just stubborn. But more likely the first one.)

So good job Uncomfortable!

Lets see if the texture challenge breaks me tho :P

Another attempt at the animals exercise. Cause I need to do something else while doing those texture exercises. else they're gonna drive completely mad O_O Can't imagine how bad the treasure box ones gonna be!

And here is another attempt at lesson 5.

I like to think two of the birds turned out ok. I really needt o learn to draw bigger though. It's very hard to keep a clear image when you draw small with the steadlr pen.

I've noticed that I've been kinda neglecting the exercises lesson two and heavily leaned on lesson 1 exercises for the warmups. So I decided to force myself to redo these and see how rusty I've become in them.

Pretty sure the texture exercise is still something I'm terrible at.

There you goo Uncomfortable. Hope they're not too terrible.

CorenSV in the post "250 Box Challenge"

2018-01-11 13:09

Another set of boxes:

https://imgur.com/a/Wivir

I've started to figure out that I still have quite a bit of trouble with drawing straight lines that end up where I want them to do. So I'll have to up the practice on the ghosting exercise for sure. Or be more careful during that practice.

Dunno how the boxes went though. Hope some improvement is at least visible!

else I'll have to draw even more boxes O__O.. oh well, can't hurt anything but my sanity!

CorenSV in the post "250 Cylinder Challenge"

2017-12-27 11:31

I completely forgot about the box thing XD. ah well, drawing some more cylinders and boxes can never hurt.

now just the boxes and texture challenge before I'll jump face first into the treasure box one!

Here is my submission, https://imgur.com/a/ixrW2

Ellipses I probably should up the practice on.

2017-11-11 18:59

Now that's embarrassing XD. Whoops, I fixed it. Sorry for that.

CorenSV in the post "Lesson 7: Drawing Vehicles"

2017-11-11 18:00

And here are my vehicles. This was a hard assignment, especially the construction of the initial box, it's perspective and the proportions of them.

I unfortunately don't have a brush pen or an ellipse guide.

And another 250 boxes... no matter how many times I do this. It stay's hard. I tried to use line weight, especially to the end of the boxes. But I'll need a lot more practice with it. Also, my scanner made the corrections black :/. I apologize about that.

2017-10-21 17:33

Yes I'm scanning my work. I've been using the auto scan function of my scanner. So I'm not sure if that's the problem. But for the next exercise I'll try to use the Photo preset, just in case.

CorenSV in the post "Lesson 6: Drawing Everyday Objects"

2017-10-21 07:49

I'm using a STAEDLER pigment liner 0.5 The ones you recommended.

And here is my attempt at lesson 6.

I think I might need to retry the 250 box challenge. I'm having a very tough time with getting the right proportions of boxes down.

2017-10-13 14:08

And here is the lesson 5 redo without texture: https://imgur.com/a/vDUDt

I've been trying to implement the things you've mentioned in the note. Not sure how successfull it was though.

CorenSV in the post "Lesson 5: Drawing Animals"

2017-10-06 20:07

And that's lesson 5: https://imgur.com/a/llch5

This was a lot harder then the insects.

Texture is still a big problem. But I think that some small parts of it are slowly clicking together. Or I might be thinking to highly of myself. That's also possible.

CorenSV in the post "Lesson 4: Drawing Insects and Arachnids"

2017-09-26 22:28

and here are my creepy crawlies.

https://imgur.com/a/9XyxK

I think proportion wise there is a lot that's going wrong. Probably was a problem already present in lesson 3. But with plants things being slightly out of proportion might be less obvious.

I like the yellowjacket I did though. The ladybug. I'm very aware the back legs are missing.. But I couldn't find the back legs on the reference for the life of me :/

CorenSV in the post "Lesson 3: Drawing Plants"

2017-09-22 08:51

And here is my homework for Lesson 3: https://imgur.com/a/zloU6

I'm still having a lot of trouble with the leaves. especially if they're thin. And I gave up on texture after one since it just created an unreadable mess. I'll give that another try after some more practice with the texture challenge.

And here is lesson 2. Texture is still kicking my ass. I think I'll start doing the texture challenge to see if that helps anything. Can't keep running away from texture.

CorenSV in the post "Lesson 3: Drawing Plants"

2017-09-12 14:50

So I've been doing mostly figure drawing for a month. I don't think that was a good idea, because when I tried to start back with lesson 7. It felt like everything pretty much atrophied away.

So I'm gonna try and redo the lessons again. If you don't mind?

I'm still have quite a bit of trouble with my unsure lines I think. But I hope some progress has been made.

Lesson 6

I just can't seem to get my head wrapped around this lesson.. The problems start with trying to get the box right on the paper and only get worse from there on out.

CorenSV in the post "Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes"

2017-06-28 18:31

I've been struggling a lot with my linework in lesson 6. So I thought it might be a good idea to go over these exercises again.

My homework

It took a while, but here it is. I'm still completely clueless as to how to bring on texture. But you'll probably see that once you look at the mess.

CorenSV in the post "Lesson 4: Drawing Insects and Arachnids"

2017-04-17 20:27

As for scale I'm using regular A4 printer paper. Trying to fill it completely.

Here are the 4 extra ones. well 5 I added one because the ant I tried just came out atrocious.. they got a really wierd body structure

Here is lesson 4. I have no idea on how I did. Though i'm very sure texture is something I still don't really understand :/

Pretty sure this isn't the only problem with my drawings. But I really don't have a clue on how to draw the feathers/fur of the animals.

Could explain that a bit more?

It seems that I'm not quite sure on what you mean with drawing every ellipse through. I thought it was that you also had to draw the non visible part of the contour ellipse.

did you mean that the ellipses/contour curves have to intersect each other?

those eyeball maggots look pretty fun to draw :).

I took your points in consideration. (At least I tried to.) But I'm not seeing a lot of improvement. So I'm guessing I'll have to do this one over again ^^;

EDIT: Something is wierd on my end. The last picture doesn't load. Does this one work?

I didn't do any spiders because I'm honestly scared shitless of them. even just seeing them in pictures makes me want to run.

If I have to I'll do them. But I really rather not.

Here is my homework for this lesson.

Also, the link on your website that leads to usable images leads to a 404 error. You might want to check that out.

Thanks in advance for looking all of this over as well. I appreciate it.
