    Hi!

    Lines

They generally look good. You followed the instructions and kept them consistent and nicely flowing, for the superimposed lines I would suggest doing more curves (try like S shapes to) but really nothing to worry deeply about. For some of the lines on the planes and ghosted lines exercise there's a tiny curvature that may be the result of holding the pen too tightly. Keep in mind that tension doesn't increase accuracy and a relaxed wrist is a happy non tendinitis wrist! And one last bit that is never bad do reinforce, for the times you overshoot the dots try to lift your pen out of the page immediately after reaching the end point, may help.

    Ellipses

The tables look neat and clean, you understood the main gist of the exercise by mostly respecting the boundaries, not overlapping too much and strived to keep them fitting tightly, it shows that you payed attention. Same goes for the funnels exercise, however the minor axis line should cut the ellipses in two different halves and sometimes the line itself is not 'perfect' aligned with the funnel but its just a reminder more than anything else. One last thing is that some ellipses look like you drawn a million times over rather than 3~4 but for real I'm not sure if that checks, anyway make sure to not do a million times.

    Boxes

This section is mostly to help introducing you to the concept of 3D space and the position of objects in said space therefore as long as you followed the instructions and did not deviate from the path you're good. The boxes on the rough perspective have way more wobbly lines than the previous ones, I get it. There's much more room for hesitation here than just drawing straight lines and planes because there are more lines and more angles to connect and make sense within each other therefore the ghosting method here is essential to develop confidence when executing the lines.

I see that the organic perspective has much more confident and consistent line work in the boxes, good job! This is hard and some boxes vary too little in size for some cases, at least not enough to make it relevant, but for now it is pretty ok.

    Final thoughts

You understood the purpose of the lesson as a whole and for me you're good to proceed to teh 250 box challenge! Good Luck!

Next stop 250 box challenge! Good luck, drink water, relax your wrist and don't grind!

Hi! I did my revisions, actually I went a little deeper because from the day I posted to when you did the critique some time has passed so I did a full week of plants and here are the 'best' pages and plants. https://imgur.com/a/3I31Bbu

    Hi!

    Lines

For the lines and planes they're quite good, you kept the lines mostly smooth and consistent and it shows that you took your time on planning them. Only thing I want to point though is that for some lines, there's a tiny little 'twitch' on the begining and this could be a result of holding the pen more tight than needed.

    Ellipses

Overall pretty good. You kept most of them respecting the bounds and not overlapping and did them more the once, one thing I would suggest is also include more narrow ellipses (for both exercises) only for the sake of variety, so you can go through more different motions, but this is almost a nit pick hehehe. Same thing goes to the funnels exercise, they look nice and it shows that you strived to keep them aligned to the minor axis.

    Boxes

This is the hard stuff for the lesson, mostly to help in understanding the concept of 3D space and the objects position in said space. I see that for some boxes you tried to correct some lines, try not doing that. I know sometimes it just goes automatically but keeping the mistakes there is essential to observe and tackle where you went wrong. The organic perspective its hard, some boxes dont really vary in size for some cases, at least not enough to make it relevant, but for now it is pretty ok and you did good. And the most painfull one the rotaed boxes are also good for now, what I think would improve here is that you keep the gaps between the boxes more narrow and put them more close to each other.

    Final thoughts

You understood the gist of the lesson and it shows that you really read the content and sticked to the guides. Gotta be honest I sorta struggled to find some things to add, you're good to go to the 250box challenge!

    Next Steps:

250 box challenge awaits you, its gonna be fun I promise.

    Hi!

    Lines

Superimposed lines: Good, the lines mostly stay on track and don't deviate from the path and the curves also look nice.

Ghosted Lines and planes: Make sure to take your time and place your pen on the right place before drawing the line, some of them kinda before the intial dot. I see that especially in the planes you're having trouble with overshooting, for that matter try doubling down on your ghosting method and lift your pen out of the page ass soon as you the endpoint. For some lines there's a tiny little curvature on the begining, sometimes that's the result of holding the pen too tightly, relax your hand and try to hold the pen as lightly as possible, that will help you with your execution, the less tension the better. But it's overall nice, keep it improving.

    Ellipses

Tables: Overall good job, there are some overlaps here and there but you grasped the exercise and it shows you strived to keep it consistent and smooth.

Funnels: The minor axis line should cut the ellipses in two equal halves, when said line is not placed correctly it is hard to follow that rule. You're allowed to use rulers for this exercise as the point here is to get used to the minor axis as much as fitting the ellipses in a tight space.

    Boxes

This is the hard part of the lesson, mostly to test the waters and start to understand the concept of 3D space. I see that you tried to correct some lines in your boxes, dont do that, keep the mistakes there so you can see them clearly to tackle where you can improve. Boxes are harder in that sense because the set of lines need to make sense within each other therefore there is way more room for hesitation, but that's perfectly fine, double down on ghosting the lines if needed to help with your confidence, take your time and don't rush. For the rough perspective it is better to do the correction method with a different color to help you better differentiate the lines however it is not the most important thing. In the rotated boxes, remember to keep the edges close to each other in order to avoid huge gaps of space in between them making hte perspective more off the grid. The organic perspective looks good, it can always be better but dont worry as in your next step is the 250 box challenge

    Final thoughts

You got the main gist of the lesson it shows on your submission that you understood what was being asked. Keep striving to hit better smoothnes with your lines by using the ghost method and drawing with your shoulder. Good luck on the next lesson!

    Hi

    Lines

Superimposed lines: They look good and the second page is better, you took your time, tried to follow the first line smoothly and accurately. One thing I want to point out though is that you increase the size as you progress through the page, start with a small one so then you can build up until bigger ones that cross the entire page.

Ghosted Lines and planes: In the lines exercise I see some straight but quite wobbly lines, remember to use the ghost method as many times needed so that the execution can be faster and confident in order to avoid the wobbles but remember that fast doesn't mean reckless, take your time and reward will come. The larger lines look curved, this sometimes happens because you're using more your elbow pivot than your shoulder, however if you use the shoulder and still have this result try to consciously arch tin the opposite direction veeeerrryy softly. The lines on the ghosted planes already look better and more confident,

    Ellipses

Tables: Very good, keep it that way. You grasped the exercise as a whole, keep striving to make them not overlap and fit tightly within the borders.

Funnels: The middle line should always cut the ellipses in two equal halves and when you position said line not in the center of the semi-circles that becomes a impossible task, off course, not asking to do it computer precision but try not to make them too far off. Aside from that you did a good job, your ellipses are fairly confident and fit mostly well within the funnel. One last thing, the rule of starting wider and narrowing as you go is optional so if you're having trouble with it just try doing the exercise without it for the first attempts and then slowly introducing this rule on your warmups.

    Boxes

This is the hard section, the main thing here is to follow the steps that were given by the lesson and execute them to the best of your ability. Here the lines are generally more wobbly, remember to ghost theses lines here as well since that drawing boxes it is indeed harder because the lines need to make sense within the construction and thus leaving way more room to hesitation, the ghosting method helps exactly with that. For the rough perspective it is better to do the correction method with a different color to help you better differentiate the lines, however not at all something that would disrupt everything, just keep that in mind. As for the organic perspective and rotated boxes they look well for now, those are mainly to test the waters and your perception of 3D space and boxes as a whole will get better with your next stop the 250 box challenge.

    Final thoughts

You did nice, it shows on this submission that you've read and followed the instructions carefully, keep it like that and don't forget to use this that you learned on your warmups they are ESSENTIAL to improve your skills. Good luck!

    Next Steps:

Next stop is the 250 box challenge! Good luck!

    Hi

    Lines

Superimposed lines: Look good, you took your time and tried to follow the first line. One thing I wanna add is that at the end of some lines there's a little curve, I would suggest to lift your pen out of the paper as soon as you reach the end in order to avoid that, same thing as you would do to the ghosted lines in order to not overshoot it.

Ghosted Lines and planes: Overall good. Some lines are slightly arched, for that matter try to consciously arch on the opposite direction see if that helps and remember to use your shoulder and use the ghost method as much as needed and sometimes the curvatures can be due to you using the elbow pivot. In the same note of curves, there are some tiny bit curves on the beginning of some lines, for me that tend to happen when I hold the pen tighter than needed, you can hold it softly with no problem, doing it tightly will only hurt your wrist.

    Ellipses

Tables: You should strive to keep the ellipses within the bounds and snugly with each other, no overlapping. For that matter remember to use the ghosting method (not just here or in the lines, but for every mark you do from now on). Some ellipses you didn't draw through more than once, keep in mind that the purpose here is to get used to the motion of making the ellipse and for that drawing through is extremely important so even if you did a perfect ellipse in one shot you should still go for it more than once.

Funnels: The middle line should always cut the ellipses in two equal halves. Strive to fit them tightly and not overlapping with each other and also pay attention to the first one you draw, if it is odd then the rest is gonna look weird too.

    Boxes

This is a more hard section mostly to test the waters, the idea here is to get familiarized with the concepts of 3D space so reading and following the steps of the enunciated is the main requirement but needless to say all the previous observations also apply here.

Rough perspective: The lines here are more wobbly and less confident than the previous exercises, its hard when it's a box because you kinda have more room to hesitation since the lines need to match with more things than just one dot. But that's normal, ghost your lines mas many times you need and go for it, no hesitation just execution (muhahahaha).

Rotated boxes: This exercise always makes me wanna cry! Its good for now, however, you've drawn the cross and then put the flat boxes on each end but didn't followed it, those lines are important to keep track of where you're going, make sure to not forget about it.

Organic perspective: The boxes in this section got better, they look more confident, good job. This is another tough one, some boxes are off but no need to worry as in the next step is the 250 box challenge

    Final thoughts

You followed the instructions and overall understood the main gist of the lesson. Now, don't forget to use those exercises you just learn on your warmups, they are ESSENTIAL to improve. Ready for the next stop?

    Next Steps:

Now move on to the 250 box challenge! Good luck and dont give up

    Hi!

    Lines

Superimposed lines: They look fine, you understood the idea of the exercise and followed the steps carefully.

Ghosted Lines and planes: Some lines are slightly arched and many overshoots the destination dot. Remember to try lifting your pen immediately after reach the dot to see if that helps you avoid this mistake. Overall they look very good, smooth, consistent e not wobbly. Strive to make the circles fit tightly within the planes.

    Ellipses

Tables: The ellipses are mostly going off bounds and colliding with each other, strive to fit them tightly and don't forget to use the ghosting method here as well. You'll get better as you practice and overall you understood the gist of the exercise and followed through the enunciated.

Funnels: Same thing here, do your best to keep the ellipses within bounds and not overlapping with each other. For this in particular, the first one you draw is essential to getting the other ones into place, if the first is not divided in two equal halves by the minor axis the the rest will just look weird.

    Boxes

Overall your boxes look nice and clean and it shows that you did took your time to execute your lines. But in the rough perspective you try to correct some of them, that is absolutely something you don't need to do, leave your mistakes there so you can see them, remember this is a exercise only. Keep in mind that everything I said about the lines exercises also apply here so don't forget to ghost them as many times you need especially when you're gonna go for weighted lines. All of the box exercises are hard especially the organic perspective and the rotated boxes and as stated in the lesson you're not suppose to nail them right off the gate , they're mostly to test the waters since you are going through the 250 boxes challenge.

    Final thoughts

You followed all the steps and have clearly read and understood what the lesson wanted you to, good look on the next steps! And don't forget to use those exercises you just learn on your warmups, they are essential to improving your skills.

    Next Steps:

Next stop is the 250 boxes challenge! Good Luck!

    Hi

    Lines

Superimposed lines: There are fraying on both ends, make sure to take your time and place the pen on the correct spot before executing the line and yes you should strive to make the LINE fast, not the planning. The goal here is to follow through the original line as close as possible with confidence and smoothness. Remember to start with small lines and steadily increase its size as you fill the page. And as much as any other mark that you're doing, ghost them as many times as you need.

Ghosted Lines: They're generally wobbly, especially the smaller ones, remember to use your shoulder for them no matter the size and apply the ghost method as many times needed, take your time to execute them with precision and smoothness and in the case of overshooting the dot, seek to lift your pen from the page immediately after reaching it. Try holding your pen more softly and that should help you with your line flow as well, see those tiny little curvatures at the beginning of some lines? That might help you not do that, holding it tightly will only hurt your wrist.

Ghosted Planes: For the lines sames things I said on the previous sections apply here.

    Ellipses

Tables: They're not really visible for the most part so I can't really tell if you're properly drawing through some of them. Keep in mind though that they should fit tightly within each other and the bounds of the sections they are in and respect the lines that divide those sections as they're there so you can vary more the degree of your ellipses.

Funnels: The middle line (in this case represents the minor axis) should cut the ellipses in two equal halves, focus on getting the first one right so that the rest doesn't look weird and off as you follow through the line. And also strive to make the funnel accurately, don't need to be computer precision however keep in mind that if the middle line is to far off you're gonna have a hard (impossible actually) time positioning the ellipses in the right way. Draw through your ellipses more the once in one continuous flow, the purpose here is to get used the motion and to follow the minor axis.

    Boxes

Rough perspective: There's lots of chicken scratch and wobbled lines on this one, don't forget to ghost your lines to have a better execution (same previous observations apply here), some lines have been redone, don't be afraid of leaving a bad line on the page as it is much harder to see your mistakes when you erase/draw over it, remember this is a exercise and as such it is expected to have mistakes, if you cover them you'll not be able to see where there's room for improvement. You should definitely do the line correction method preferably with a different color (for this one it can be anything, a pencil, ballpoint, just be it a different color).

Rotated boxes: As stated in the enunciated, this exercise is hard and you're not expected to nail it first try, it is ok for now.

Organic perspective: Another hard exercise only to test the waters, the perspective is off but its no problem as you will tackle the 250 boxes challenge. However, once again, don't do chicken scratch, leave your bad lines there without covering it up with another one, use the ghost method for your all your lines.

** Some lines may look curved and wobbly due to your notebook spiral binding that seems crooked, not sure about that but looking from the pictures it does look like the bumps left by it are affecting your line flow.

    Final thoughts

Your lines need more work to it, you should strive to use your shoulder and apply the ghosting method. You're supposed to do the exercises with ink felt tip pens, not ballpoint. The ghost method is to help you in executing your lines with more confidence and smoothness. I'm gonna ask some revisions! But don't worry this is absolutely part of the process.

    Next Steps:

    So here it is:

Before starting to work on them, please make sure you've read again the following sections:

    ghosted lines

    superimposed lines

    table of elipses

    rough perspective

    and then:

    1 Page of ghosted lines

1 Page of table of elipses

2 Pages of rough perspective (you're not suppose to make perfect boxes but follow the instructions, use the correction method)

Don't rush, read the instructions carefully and complete them to best of your ability and use ink

Good luck, keep pushing and don't grind!

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.
