I tried to keep most of my vanishing points on the page but there are a few that I overestimated. And then I know on 3 the yellow lines diverge in pairs.

    • Superimposed Lines

o These lines start great with a defined starting point. However, begin to get frayed and the end and seem to curve with the longer lines. You could try to overcompensate and curve the other way to straighten the line out, that tip helped me a lot. But good smooth strokes, I can see you are using your shoulder.

    • Ghosted Lines

o Good lines can see you are drawing with your shoulder, accuracy will come with time/practice

    • Ghosted Planes/Ellipses

o Decent exercise, continue to practice your ellipses in warm ups!

    • Table of Ellipses

o Great job of drawing through the ellipses. Continuing to practice ellipses will allow you to draw them confidently with muscle memory, so these could be a great warmup exercise. Sometimes the lines look wobbly and not as confident as previous exercises your completed.

    • Plotted Perspective

    o These look great

    • Rough Perspective

o Really good job with drawing to the line to see errors of your lines. Lines are a bit wobbly and if you make a mistake try not to draw a “correction line” instead just continue with your first line.

    • Rotated Boxes

o Really nice work creating the illusion of depth. Lines are a bit wobbly so that will improve if you continue to practice the ghosting method!

    • Organic Perspective

o I can see that you are trying to rotate the boxes but I think next time it would help to over exaggerate so you get that more rounded shape.

    • Summary

o Overall, I think this is a great submission. It shows a lot of improvement between lessons and that you are grasping the core ideas very well. I think the 250 boxes only help you even more!!

    Next Steps:

250 boxes. Try and focus on rotating them extremely!

    Hi there,

I would just like to add my 2cents worth. I think there is a bit of fraying on the superimposed lines.

And for the ellipses I agree that they are drawn with confidence and don't worry too much about making them touch since that will just come with time.

And then for organic perspective don't 'correct' your mistake lines, just keep going with the first line! So you don't get into a bad habit.

Other than that great job and keep going!

    • Ghosted Lines

o Good lines can see you are drawing with your shoulder, accuracy will come with time/practice

    • Ghosted Planes/Ellipses

o Good job on nice confident lines. Some of the lines look forced and you shouldn’t worry about touching the square corners as much. And then try to incorporate your muscle memory when drawing the ellipses, which will come with practice.

    • Table of Ellipses

o Great job of drawing through the ellipses. Continuing to practice ellipses will allow you to draw them confidently with muscle memory, so these could be a great warmup exercise

    • Rough Perspective

o Really good job with drawing to the line to see errors of your lines. Lines are a bit wobbly and if you make a mistake try not to draw a “correction line” instead just continue with your first line. Also, don’t use white out.

    • Rotated Boxes

o Really nice line work here and creating the illusion of depth. The only critique I have is rotating your boxes. It looks like you are just moving them backwards and not rotating them https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/17/notrotating. I think the Y tool could help with this. https://drawabox.com/lesson/250boxes/1/assignment .

    • Organic Perspective

o Your line work is improving here and I can definitely see the improvement through your lessons. Some of the boxes are rotated weirdly but this a great piece. It clearly shows you are thinking about how the pieces would be in 3-d space.

    • Summary

o Overall, I think this is a great submission. Don’t worry with the whiteout and just continue drawing even though you made a mistake. Keep warming up with some ellipses to practice

    • Superimposed Lines

o I think they look fine. Thy start to fray at the end but nothing to crazy and will improve over time with practice.

    • Ghosted Lines

o Nice confident lines. You can see how you are using your shoulder for most of the lines

    • Ghosted Planes/Ellipses

o I really like these. Especially since you didn’t try to force the lines into the right corners and slow down but instead focusing on confident lines.

    • Table of Ellipses

o Look decent. More practice will improve accuracy. Just remember to draw with your shoulder and depend on the muscle memory you create by practicing.

    • Funnels

o Same feed back as the ellipses table

    • Plotted Perspective

o Very nice. See nothing to critique here.

    • Rough Perspective

o Good job on drawing the line back to the horizon. I see that you are tracing over “mistake” lines. If you make a mistake, just flow with it and don’t redo it. It’s a bad habit to get into.

    • Rotated Boxes

o Nice job. Some of the perspectives are off but you can clearly see you changing the view that makes this appear to be a round ball.

    • Organic Perspective

o Really nice job here. Good job making the boxes toward the front larger. I like how some of the boxes are straight on point of views. And you rotated your boxes well.

Overall nice work! Just maybe do warm ups with ellipses to practice.

    Next Steps:

    250 Boxes!!!

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
