Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes
2:17 PM, Thursday September 16th 2021
Well, after a month or so of work, I've finished the first lesson. Here are some personal observations that I've made so far.
-
I have a some neurological issues that affect my fine motor skills, and it shows. Initially it was on all of my lines, but as I've practiced in warm ups, my longer lines have gotten more stable and consistent. My short lines remain a bit wobbly, unfortunately.
-
I had trouble visualizing boxes in 3d space, leading to a really scuffed rotated boxes exercise. The concept actually started to "click" about halfway through the organic perspective exercise
-
My ellipses still seem a bit hit or miss, especially as they get smaller. Hopefully, this will improve as I go on like my lines did
Overall it was a really good experience to go through the lesson, and I can feel my fine motor skills sharpening a fair bit. Partially due to the exercise that I do as a warm up, I was able to start handwriting fairly legibly for the first time in my life. If anyone has any critiques/feedback, any advice is much appreciated! I'd also like to know if I need to repeat any of the extra scuffed exercise before I move on to the challenge.
