    Hello, Purpel

Thank you so much for the critique! It was helpful and I really appreciate the tip of looking at other people's work marked as complete. I did struggle with the intersections a lot so I'll be sure to do that!

    Hello, again

Hmm so I did want to return the favor but I am far behind compared to you. So I’m not sure how to help you out. Do you have any ideas?

I can critique semi-realistic or realistic artwork or photo studies. I guess I can critique on proportions (since that is important in any art style) but what I mentioned before is more what I have experience on.

I do really appreciate that you gave me two critiques and even looked at my corrections.

Hello, Aeshnabx! I'm sorry for the super late reply; I had just checked up on drawabox today. Thank you for taking the time to give me two critiques! I also appreciate the links you've put to help me out.

Admittedly, I don't understand some things you said since it has been a while so I'll be sure to return to the lesson like you said.

Anyways, I have noted your critiques and I will do the additional boxes. >:0 Thank you again!!

The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something I've used myself. If you're interested, here is a full list.

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
