    Hi!

Your submission is pretty good. You should practice a bit more the tables of ellipses, there are some parts where you cannot hit the borders correctly. And at the funnels the ellipses are off the center in a few places. If you practice these as warmups before drawing, you'll improve.

All in all, nice work! Well done!

    Hi!

Overall you did great! There's just a few things to pay attention to:

    1. Superimposed lines - try to draw them more together at the end too

    2. Tables of ellipses - try to stay inbetween the lines

    3. Rough perspective - the back end of the boxes are off, but don't worry, you'll get better after the 250 box challenge.

All the other exercises are well done. You should practice the above mentioned exercises as worm ups before you start drawing, and you'll get better in time. :)

    Well done!

Thank you ! Fitting ellipses into space was difficult for me, I'll work on that more.

    Hi,

I'm new here, so until I get used to critiquing, I'll write you what I should tell to myself.

Superimposed lines: Try to stay on the line till the end. There are some lines where you could hold it, so you can do it with more practice.

Ghosted line: some of your lines are wobbly, try to make them with more confidence. Your ghosted planes are much better.

Tables of ellipses: there are gaps an overlaps, but overall pretty tight and nice work.

Ellipses in planes and funnels: there are some which don't touch the sides of the planes or overshoots them. You might practice it a bit more, maybe as a warmup before drawing.

Plotted perspective is well done, for rough perspective you should connect the edges of the boxes.

The rest of the exercises are all well done, your organic boxes are way better than mine. :)

Keep up the good work, and don't mind going in your own pace.

    Hi,

Your work is the first I evaluate here, so I might not be a big help yet. As I see you followed the instructions precisely.

Superimpised lines: the starting points are great, maybe you should pay more attention to keep the lines together until the end. At the end of the 2nd page your lines were much more together.

Ghosted lines and planes are good.

You need more practice on ellipses, fitting them into their places. (me too :))

Your boxes are way better than mine. So I can't really judge that.

You did a nice, clean and precise job!

    Next Steps:

    Next up: 250 boxes challenge

    Keep up this great work!

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
