Excited to finish lesson 1! Grateful for anyyyy feedback!
Hi overall good job and congrats finishing first lesson :)
Lines and Ellipses
Lines and ellipses are looking p good, though they do get a bit wobbly especially your ellipses, so don't forget to keep working on it.
Boxes
Boxes are looking good. Also good job on perspective, though you missed it on some of your boxes, which is completely fine, as you'll work on it in 250 boxes challenge.
Overall good job and keep it up ;)
Next Steps:
Next Steps:
Continue to use these exercises as part of your warm ups (about 10-15 minutes)
Feel free to move onto the 250 box challenge
Don’t forget to take breaks and draw for fun!
Also, now that you’ve completed Lesson 1, I encourage you to critique some Lesson 1 community submissions. Not only will this help the community, but it will also solidify and reinforce your understanding of the material. Of course, this is optional (but we’d be especially grateful!). If you’d like to give it a shot, see this guide that was created by one of our community members on how to go about critiquing Lesson 1.
Thank you for the feedback and encouragement! I'm def going to keep working on ellipses on the warm ups and do the box challenge now.
No worries bro ;)
Hi,
Your work is the first I evaluate here, so I might not be a big help yet. As I see you followed the instructions precisely.
Superimpised lines: the starting points are great, maybe you should pay more attention to keep the lines together until the end. At the end of the 2nd page your lines were much more together.
Ghosted lines and planes are good.
You need more practice on ellipses, fitting them into their places. (me too :))
Your boxes are way better than mine. So I can't really judge that.
You did a nice, clean and precise job!
Next Steps:
Next up: 250 boxes challenge
Keep up this great work!
Thank you! That's really helpful; I'll work more on the elipses and superimposed lines for warm ups.
I'm glad I could help!
These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.
Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
