    1. In super-imposed lines, some of the lines have fraying on both ends. For this exercise, make sure to slow down and place the pen carefully at the start of each line.

    2. Your ghosted lines have some wobbling and curving. Remember to prioritize confidence over accuracy. If curving continues to be an issue, you can try to curve in the opposite direction, and the two should cancel each other out. Ghosted planes also shows these issues, but overall I think there’s an improvement and the lines appear more confident.

    3. The ellipses in the ghosted planes don’t always meet every side of the plane, but I think the ellipses are drawn confidently. This could be a warm up exercise for the future.

    4. On the organic perspective, it looks like one of the squares was forgotten about, and it’s a 2D object amongst the 3D boxes. Looks like the curving lines has persisted throughout the exercises, though I’m not seeing as many wobbly lines, so that’s good!

    Next Steps:

I think you're good to move onto the 250 box challenge. For your warm-up exercises, work on canceling out the curve in your lines.

    1. In super-imposed lines, a few of the lines have fraying on both ends. But most of this exercise only has fraying on one end, so just something to keep in mind to watch out for. There is also some line arching occurring, but this seems to improve over time.

    2. Your ellipses look good, drawn with confidence and you drew threw them twice.

    3. Most of the lines in the organic perspective look confident, but there are a few that are curved or wobbly. There is a lot of improvement from the super-imposed lines, so just something to look out for.

    Next Steps:

As the next step, continue on to the 250 box challenge.

    1. Ghosted lines have some wobble. However, by the organic perspective homework, confidence improved a lot.

    2. Table of Ellipses, some of the ellipses don’t appear drawn through. The ones only drawn once seem to be earlier on in the exercise, while most of the ellipses were drawn through two or three times as intended. I also want to point out, the ones that were drawn through seem more confident than the ellipses only drawn once. Good improvement throughout the exercise.

    3. Your rotated boxes homework looks good; I can see the improvement over the course of that homework with the lines and the boxes.

    Next Steps:

    Move on to Lesson 2.

Remember to prioritize confidence over accuracy.

Ellipse Master Template

Ellipse Master Template

This recommendation is really just for those of you who've reached lesson 6 and onwards.

I haven't found the actual brand you buy to matter much, so you may want to shop around. This one is a "master" template, which will give you a broad range of ellipse degrees and sizes (this one ranges between 0.25 inches and 1.5 inches), and is a good place to start. You may end up finding that this range limits the kinds of ellipses you draw, forcing you to work within those bounds, but it may still be worth it as full sets of ellipse guides can run you quite a bit more, simply due to the sizes and degrees that need to be covered.

No matter which brand of ellipse guide you decide to pick up, make sure they have little markings for the minor axes.
