First off... Congratulations on completing the 250 boxes challenge WHOOP WHOOP ???????? lol

Alright so, I see you have stayed true the to method taught, plotting your lines and ghosting to achieve that line, I do see some lines are a bit wobbly or go off course to which you did retry, that is common to occur, but it also indicates a lack of taking one's time when ghosting, but nothing stopping and slowing down won't fix.

You also drew through your boxes, which is great, one thing though the boxes are missing numbering which would have been ideal to point of specific boxes to explain some points, but it'll be good exercise for you to look for those yourself I suppose.

I noticed some of your boxes were in pencil, where as this lesson and others are strictly pen, however I did also notice that your first set of pages were in pen, so you knew of this rule, one thing is that you also could have used a regular ballpoint pen if felt pens weren't available at the time. But I'm not gonna penalize your entire submission because of this.

So my advice for the future is to take your time when ghosting to connect your plotted lines. Also one last thing, some images were blurry and difficult to see, so for future lessons ensure the images you take are clear.

I would recommend to do 2-5 boxes with active attention to ghosting and compare them to your boxes here just for a personal exercise.

But overall I believe you understood the main point of the challenge and lesson that comes with it.

    Heyo!

    Overall good work ?

    Lines

    • Your linework was mostly confident and smooth.

    • Little to no signs of arching, no consistent cases of fraying and no repeated lines, so great job!

    Ellipses

    • Your exercises were done nicely indicating that you understood the exercise at its core.

    • There were little to no signs of overlapping, most of the ellipses were done 2-3 times per instructions and stayed within its area, nice!

    Boxes

    • You stayed true to the ghosting method to construct your boxes, well done!

    • It would seem that you misunderstood the Rough Perspective exercise, correct me if I'm wrong but it looks as though you used a ruler/straight edge to "plot" your lines back to the vanishing point similar to the Plotted Perspective exercise.

For clarity, in the Rough Perspective exercise, you are only to use a ruler to plot the lines of your boxes back to the vanishing point, AFTER you've construct your boxes (by ghosting).

Overall as I stated previously you've done good work! I would recommend redoing the Rough Perspective exercise just to re-introduce you to its methods and be able to see how your eyes tend to assume how far/close the vanishing point is/isn't and then you may move on to the 250 Boxes Challenge. ( ??? )?

Staedtler Pigment Liners

Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
