Hi ! I like your lines, they feel confident in the ghosted and superimposed lines exercise.

You seem to be missing the ellipses table exercice, be sure to add it to your submission.

On the funnels exercise : while you seem to have nailed that the minor axis cuts your ellipses in half, the width of all your ellipses is identical. Try to tighten the angle and you progress "down" the narrow funnel and widen the angle as you progress "out" of it again on the wider other side of the funnel.

On the organic perspective exercise you have forgotten to draw "through" many of your boxes (i.e. drawing the lines that are "behind" the visible areas of your boxes).

    Next Steps:

I would advise to at least :

    • complete the ellipses table exercise

    • try another go of the organic perspective exercise paying attention to drawing through your boxes

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, really useful ! I'll definitely use the advice for the box warmups I continue to do daily.

Alright I'll find the remaining images - I've been posting as I go on Discord but I'm just getting used to the different workspaces :)

    Thanks for the feedback

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
