Hiya Syllastew - thanks for the feedback.

I've now given the 35 boxes an attempt below:

    https://imgur.com/a/jkvaEdd

    • I can see a major issue during all the additional 35 that i don't seem to be able to avoid at the initial point of place my interior point (where all 3 lines converge to inside the box). This means one line is always going off by itself. I've tried to illustrate my frustation (haha) with box 34. I've also tried to circle ones i think are wrong.

    • You can see for our benefit of pointing out which lines i'm speaking about, that i've added "l l l l" and "S S S S" across the two lines to box 34. This is the issue i see across many of my additional boxes, and i tried to use your linked diagram to understand the inside lines need to be parallel to eachother. Should my "S S S S" line have been coverging towards the other 3, or is the the "l l l l" line that is incorrect?

I've also been adding and ghosting another line onto all outer edges to show the silohette, but it might not be so clear on my scans. Let me know if not and i can reupload with different brightness to the scans.

Thank you (Happy new year btw!)

Hiya Scyllastew - thanks for the feedback!

    A question in response:

    • How many edges of the box do i need to apply the line weight to? I remember the lesson video states it helps to add some dynanism to the box, but you don't want to apply it to all of the outer edges because it'll be too bold? So maybe one or two edges would be okay?

    Hiya Benj,

Thanks for much for the great feedback. I'll try and carry on these points into the 250 box challenge.

Just a few things i wanted to ask:

    1. Could you clarify what you meant by "bumpy" during the ellipses in planes exercise? Does this just mean the (2) lines i create to form the ellipse should be closer together. Is it recommended to do this at a faster pace when drawing the ellipses?

Though there’s the occasional bumpy ellipse "

    1. For the Funnels exercise, do all of the ellipses keep the same position/angle as eachother but just differ in their minor width (so they increase as the ellipses get further to the exits of the funnel?) I can see there are a few examples i tried to have the exiting ellipses on a slight tilt in comparison to the other ellipses, is that right?

    That's perfect, thank you!

Hey Benj, where can you go to review the official critiques? I'd really like to see what feedback is written for people's homeworks :)

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
