Your line control is impressive, even while adding line weight to box edges and hatching

Only "mistake" that I see is that you did not draw through many of your ellipses as the instructions call for, you only did a single pass, but you clearly have good control of what your drawing and I have a feeling this is just practice for you not beginner instruction, great job lesson complete

Good use of hatching, I don't see any mistakes with the converging lines that you yourself didn't catch, and there is clear improvement in line quality and box shape from start to finish comparing the first 50 to the last 50, good work I would say this is completed.

A lot of mistakes with the converging lines early on, and the boxes are very similar in size and shape, but you show clear improvement in both these aspects by box 100, be careful though you still made the converging line wrong on box 220, always rememer they shoot away from the 3 foward-facing planes you can see, not towards. Overall good improvement I would say, good job.

Arrows look good, I see you are drawing over your ellipses which is good, textures study page could push the textures harder on the darker side, there isn't much of a transition from the dark side to the light, but the textures on the curved forms look great and have good variety. On your last 2 pages the pile looks good at the bottom, the forms are wrapping around, but towards the top they do not wrap as they should they look stacked on top and flat watch out for that

Biggest critique would be a lot of your boxes are coming out mishaped, I would reccomend slowing down a bit and really trying to make them line up if that kind of vague advice helps at all.

Nice variety of angles and sizes, good use of the hatching and I see little to no diverging lines towards the end, which was more common in your first few pages, so good progression and good job overall.

I also still struggle with that after doing this exercise, I think its just meant as a check for how accurate you were/any glaring mistakes with your process and not to worry too much it'll get better with more drawing practice

A lot of similar angles and sizes choosen for boxes and more hatching the front planes are easy criticisms, but you show you know how the vanishing points work and the boxes are tighter by the end good job overall I would say

A few backwards converging lines on the first few boxes but you quickly correct that and I can see progression from start to finish nice job.

Ellipses inside the planes are a little mishapen but on the tables they look better, I would mark as completed

I see definite improvement in your boxes from beginning to end, adding line weight to the boxes is tough I am struggling with it also, not sure if I have the authority but challenge looks compelte to me boss.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
