    Hello, Hongo!

Congratulations on completing lesson 1! I think you did a great job. I'll try to be brief and clear about your work.

Your lines are nice. You've learned well that the line has to be confident. On rough perspective exercise they are not so smooth but it takes time to improve their quality. I also see a tendency to arching in superimposed lines. Try to use your shoulder more, or if it naturally happens to you, try to consciously draw a line in opposite way.

In ellipses part I see no mistakes. It can be seen that you tried to fit them within the bounds and you succeeded. On funnels the minor axis cut ellipses quite well.

In boxes part I would mark rotated boxes and organic perspective. I think for the first time it is a great result. On rough perspective try draw width lines exactly parallel to horizon and height lines perpendicular to horizon, so boxes will be less distorted.

In general, you did a great job and you didn't make any serious mistakes. Once again, congratulations and good luck on the path of the artist :)

    Next Steps:

Time to start 250 box challenge and keep practicing your lines and exercises from the first lesson.

    Hello, Sketchotron! Well done :)

    1. Lines

In general, your lines are nice. There is a bit of fraying in both ends in superimposed lines. Remember to spot your fineliner exactly at the same place when you draw each new line. (Also, you made three pages instead of the two required. Be more attentive next time).

Ghosted lines and planes are fine. Don't see any mistakes.

    1. Ellipses

In funnels the very first ellipse should be cut in two symmetrical halves by the vertical line. It is not so important, but remember it. Generally, ellipses are very good. Try to improve accuracy and try to fit ellipses within the bounds snugly and without overlapping.

    1. Boxes

I would like to point out that the organic perspective is very good. I see no crucial mistakes in boxes. You said that you tried to correct the rotated boxes. Do not do this. Let your mistakes be and go on. This exercise is hard and i also had troubles with it. But when you correct things it makes your work messy and makes it hard to see clear what you have done. I know it's very hard not to correct, but it is essential.

In general, you did a great job and I want to congratulate you on the successful completion of the first lesson. An exciting 250 box challenge awaits you, so good luck!

    Next Steps:

Add these exercises in your warm up pool and start 250 box challenge.

Thank you so much!! And thanks for paying attention to the ghosted lines, I would not have noticed if I did not take a closer look again :)

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

This is a remarkable little pen. Technically speaking, any brush pen of reasonable quality will do, but I'm especially fond of this one. It's incredibly difficult to draw with (especially at first) due to how much your stroke varies based on how much pressure you apply, and how you use it - but at the same time despite this frustration, it's also incredibly fun.

Moreover, due to the challenge of its use, it teaches you a lot about the nuances of one's stroke. These are the kinds of skills that one can carry over to standard felt tip pens, as well as to digital media. Really great for doodling and just enjoying yourself.
