Here’s a new character I came up with for the Drawabox prompt, “Everything, a Dragon,” during its Autumn Promptathon 2023.

In her world, every person starts out life as a dragon-human (Draconian) hybrid like she is from an egg.

From there, when they use their magic it causes their bodies to grow into often huge, fully fledged and winged dragons overtime as adults, as depicted in this drawing. She’s imagining herself being able to do fire magic and growing, over time, into a giant adult dragon like her mum, complete with wings, thanks to using this magic from her own body.

Unfortunately, this Draconian girl can’t do magic. Her body can’t channel magic. How is she supposed to become a dragon without magic?

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
