Hello! Finished lesson 1 finally. I know I did the work digitally even though the lessons require traditional art. There's a good reason I didn't use traditional. I have disabilities making me unable to draw straight lines and causes a lot of wobbling. Can't help it without the digital tools. Thank you for taking the time to look at the work I have done. Please leave as much criticism as you can. Thank you once again.

Hi Tygon good to see you are making an effort to do the lessons, I'll try to critique your work as best as I can

-Starting with the superimposed lines, I can see a lot of fraying at the ends, try to make the lines of a consistent lenght, and take as much time as possible with the ghosting method, there doesn't seem to be a lot of wobblines but try to compensate for the arching of the lines as best as you can.

-Continuing on to the ghosted lines exercise, I can see that your linework is much better here , some lines look wobbly but just keep practicing to get better at it

-Moving on to the tables of ellipses, I know it can be a complicated exercise to tackle, but I think you are not getting as much as you can from this exercise, remember to draw with a concrete goal, you should aim to get the position, degree, angle and size of an ellipse right as shown here.

-The same thing goes for the funnels exercise, you should aim to get the alignment of the ellipses and the spacing right, maybe try to focus on one at a time and see what your results are.

-Moving on to the rough perspective I think you grasped theconcept behind the exercise so good job.

-In the rotated boxes I can see you got the idea for how to approach it but the actual exercise came out not as good as it could have been but don't worry.

-Finishing with the organic perpsective, your boxes show a good deal of problems, like some of them are distorted and other give the impression of being 2D, so try to go through the instructions for this exercise and tacle it again.

Next Steps:

To see how well you absorbed the info here, I'll ask you to try the tables of ellipses exercise again, and the funnels too.

When done, reply to this critique with your revisions and I'll gladly review them.

Thank you for the help and critique. I was wondering if I should do all the lessons again or just the ones you needed? I did the table of Ellipses again, but I wanted to send you the first page I did to see if its to your liking then I'll move to the next page and funnels. Also, I know I kinda messed up the rotated boxes it was just really lengthy and it's difficult to keep the sides even.

Your work is definitely way better, you nailed this exercise.

And also remember to take breaks if you need to, when it comes to boxes you'll have enough time to face them in the box challenge so don't worry

Next Steps:

Send the next page and the funnels please. good luck

I apologize I've been so busy. Took a few months longer than I thought to finish. Oh well, it's finished now. I hope it turned out okay.

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
