Hello.

Looks like you’ve hatched the correct face on all of these, good job.

But you’ve only extended half your lines and I have to ask, WHY?

It is unlikely to be a misunderstanding, as you extended them all correctly on your first page, and unlikely to be a lapse in concentration or forgetfulness (which would cause one or two random missing extensions, not exactly half the set.) So, why did you choose to only extend two lines from each set? I’m curious to your reasoning for that. All 4 lines should converge together to a single point, so by only extending 2 of them you’re missing some crucial information that you can take to inform your future boxes and improve your work.

You’re still drawing most of your lines mostly parallel. There’s a bit of convergence on the blue lines on 9 and 10, but not as much as I might hope or expect, given the feedback I wrote for your previous page. At the moment all your boxes either have very shallow foreshortening or none at all (which is a form of isometric drawing and considered a mistake in this challenge) You can check Comfy’s explanation on foreshortening here https://drawabox.com/lesson/250boxes/1/foreshortening and here’s an example of boxes with a variety of foreshortening https://i.imgur.com/1RupC9J.jpg see how all sets of lines converge, and for the more dramatic foreshortening they converge to a point on the page?

My last point has nothing to do with drawing and is rather blunt. Manners cost nothing. Even if you’re a child, even if English isn’t your first language, I’m sure you know how to say please and thank you. I have now spent over two hours and written over 2k words trying to help you and at no point have you acknowledged that anything I have said has been helpful or worthwhile to you. Hopefully you’re getting help on the Discord (I haven’t checked on it as I’m logged out for a week for mental health reasons) Fair warning- if you send me another image without context I’m just going to ignore you, because I believe my time and energy would be better spent helping other students who appreciate my efforts. Okay first you are right, I do know how to reply and give my thanks for those who do help me. I have no excuse not to and have taken this long, just like I have no idea why I didn't take the simple time to thanks for the help you are giving me and also taking time to do so. Yes all of this has been helpful like the discord but some questions you are asking me why things are coming out the way they are I can't answer simply because I don't know for these boxes. I think it's just a lack of understanding and practicing as there are still 240 more boxes to go and I've just started on this challange. As well as trying to think in different spaces which tbh, given how this is now the first time for really learning to draw the right way, means even harder work and breaking old habbits over a 9+ year journey attempt to improve.

Let's be real here for a second: fineliners can get pricey. It varies from brand to brand, store to store, and country to country, but good fineliners like the Staedtler Pigment Liner (my personal brand favourite) can cost an arm and a leg. I remember finding them being sold individually at a Michael's for $4-$5 each. That's highway robbery right there.

Now, we're not a big company ourselves or anything, but we have been in a position to periodically import large batches of pens that we've sourced ourselves - using the wholesale route to keep costs down, and then to split the savings between getting pens to you for cheaper, and setting some aside to one day produce our own.

These pens are each hand-tested (on a little card we include in the package) to avoid sending out any duds (another problem with pens sold in stores). We also checked out a handful of different options before settling on this supplier - mainly looking for pens that were as close to the Staedtler Pigment Liner. If I'm being honest, I think these might even perform a little better, at least for our use case in this course.

We've also tested their longevity. We've found that if we're reasonably gentle with them, we can get through all of Lesson 1, and halfway through the box challenge. We actually had ScyllaStew test them while recording realtime videos of her working through the lesson work, which you can check out here, along with a variety of reviews of other brands.

Now, I will say this - we're only really in a position to make this an attractive offer for those in the continental United States (where we can offer shipping for free). We do ship internationally, but between the shipping prices and shipping times, it's probably not the best offer you can find - though this may depend. We also straight up can't ship to the UK, thanks to some fairly new restrictions they've put into place relating to their Brexit transition. I know that's a bummer - I'm Canadian myself - but hopefully one day we can expand things more meaningfully to the rest of the world.
