    Hello Rob,

Thank you so much for such a detailed response highlighting areas where I did good and where I could improve. Did not expect such a detailed feedback.

I shall work on what all you mentioned. Especially the ellipses tilting from the minor axis.

Honestly I wanted to retry the rotated boxes exercises rather than sending that one in. However the lesson mentioned to just finish it and not expect perfection so I just submitted it. Overall I would say it was probably my favourite exercise. Really made me think about how to rotate. And although while making the dots (for ghosting method) for the line I would feel I over rotated it, after finishing the box I would realize I did not rotate it at all. I can see why Uncomfortable told to just finish it and not go for perfection. I shall revisit it after the 250 box challenge.

Sorry about the organic perspective. Somehow I missed that. My bad.

I think I understand what you mea about relying on parallel lines for my boxes. I did have some trouble with certain boxes and would always feel I'm doing them the same way. Your feedback confirms what I thought but couldn't pinpoint. I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks again mate. Have a good one.

Anyway... as you have given me permission to continue my journey, onto the boxes challenge I march! I shall tackle the realm of these infamous boxes with all my might. See you on the other side!

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
