Thank you very much! I'll keep in mind the issue with the cast shadows, I found them particulary complicated they are also a struggle for me in the fun drawings, even with reference I sometimes misinterpret them.

I'm looking forward to the prompthathon and you can be sure I'll be drawing in between all the familily Christmas celebrations hahaha

Thank you! I'm thinking of doing the texture challenge in the future, as rendering and texturing is something I also find very difficult in my personal drawings and I think it could help. When I do I'll take into account the diagrams.

Thank you very much for your critique.

I understand the issues you bring and I will practice them in warm ups.

Regarding textures I have more trouble understanding how to correct the mistakes. I did try to focus on cast shadows, but sometimes I clearly failed. Could you point me to the worst 3 attempts in my excercises?. I would like to revisit the references and to try and find their cast shadows in the future

Also in some references the cast shadows were very small and I had trouble imagining their shape in darker environments. What would you recommend?

Thank you! I will add boxes to the warm ups and do more shallow ones. And of course lines.

Thank you! I will try the ghosted lines page, I think it will help me find and internalize my ideal speed

First, thank you very much for your reply. I would like to ask a couple questions if that's ok.

In the first exercises as I was drawing the lines super fast to get them to be more confident but since they were very unaccurate I tried to slow them down to try to find a speed that was more accurate but without wobblig and I think sometimes I failed. Should I go back to as fast as possible or keep trying to find the right speed trough the challenge? Can my accuracy be better without slowing down? Is it just a matter of repetition?

I know I should be adding lesson1 (and 2 eventually) to a pool for warmups, but right now is there lesson1 exercise that I should be doing more than the others to better practice the issues you found in my work?

Lastly, should I also use points in the 250 box challenge?

    Thanks again!

The Art of Blizzard Entertainment

While I have a massive library of non-instructional art books I've collected over the years, there's only a handful that are actually important to me. This is one of them - so much so that I jammed my copy into my overstuffed backpack when flying back from my parents' house just so I could have it at my apartment. My back's been sore for a week.

The reason I hold this book in such high esteem is because of how it puts the relatively new field of game art into perspective, showing how concept art really just started off as crude sketches intended to communicate ideas to storytellers, designers and 3D modelers. How all of this focus on beautiful illustrations is really secondary to the core of a concept artist's job. A real eye-opener.
