Out of curiosity, how many critiques do you give when it's Patreon supporters asking for them?
Secondly how on earth do you fit 5-10 critiques/day into your day? I was being a bit stalkery and watched you progress through them via the homework spreadsheet. It took you a good 3-4 hours to get through that days critiques. How do you do that and have a full time job?

Heh cool, this is important to keep in mind now that I'm using a pencil again, and can easily rely too heavily on being able to rub things out and start again.
But this comic has instilled in me another question, why is your chosen internet moniker Uncomfortable? Do your clothes itch? Or do you feel awkward in social situations?
Edit: I put the comic on, my tumblr with a link to drawabox, where it may reach all two of my followers.

Hello again Uncomfortable. Homework for Lesson 7: http://imgur.com/a/ce9Hz ,with most of the references I used included this time. Like lesson 6 I found this kinda difficult. I think I'm getting there but not quite, as my drawings mostly resemble my references but not quite.
Drawing much longer straight lines sometimes seemed a bit hit and miss, despite always ghosting them; which could be a problem when I had box plane midpoint reference lines everywhere.
I also think I rushed in places, when I shouldn't have, leading to having to correct myself like the nose of the Chinook.
Anyway, thank you for your time and I look forward to what you have to say.

Hello Uncomfortable
I decided to get this done before moving onto lesson 7 in part to practice ellipses which you mentioned where an issue for lesson 6.
Thank You

Thanks /u/Uncomfortable yeah, I have read cylinder material, haven't done the challenge though. which would probs be good elipse practice. I think I'm finding the difference between drawing a random cylinder in space to one that needs to be a specific size and angle to match what I'm looking at a struggle. Then there's drawing two ellipses close together which gets very messy very quickly. But I guess that that is just a matter of hand control/practices.

Hello Again
Man I found this lesson really hard, so I'll be particularly interested in what you have to say.
I hope the photo quality isn't too abysmal, or the crude photoshopping I needed to do to get everything onto eight pages.
Thanks for everything.

Hello again! I discovered why my lines were so thin, my pen was running out of ink-not my masterful pressure control. I drew the blue tit and duck with the old pen and the rest with the new one
Glad to have you back, hope you had a chocolate filled Easter.

Man this was harder. There was definitely a fight in my head between "the construction is more important" vs "it needs to look more like the reference image"
I also struggled with the grounding shadows, they often seemed to skew in the wrong direction.
Thank you for all your work.

This is great, something I think might be worth mentioning here that you've mentioned in other places is for references people should use very high resolution photographs, 1600 pixels+. I've found being able to zoom in to more clearly see "all those veins" useful.

No it should be 0.5. I'm probably just not pressing down hard enough out of nervousness of making mistakes- which I know I shouldn't be.

Thank you, I'll do my best to keep that in mind. Doing the insects will give me opportunity to practice what you've suggested, being both smooth and naturally segmented.
Everything I've done so far has been using fineliner, it is what I meant when I said "pen."

Hello again, lesson 3 complete: http://imgur.com/a/esPXt Thank you.
There was a plant I was struggling with that I haven't put up there that I have a question about. In short: How would I go about representing a waxy smooth texture only using a pen? As each mark, even cross hatching, represents some kind of edge or roughness, but this plant mostly didn't have any.
Peteman22 in the post "Lesson 2: Organic Forms, Contour Lines, Dissections and Form Intersections (version 3)"

Thank you! Yes, those are most likely my cross sections, they required a bit of experimentation to get looking right and didn't always work. I then thickened the outer & cross section lines to make the 3d forms more distinct.
Question: I noticed when it came to draw spheres that my circles are consistently -egg/oval shaped. It will look okay, but then when I turn the page 90 degrees the "squished" look is obvious. The solution to this is obviously "draw more circles." My question is, is learning to draw a near-perfect circle worth it?

Sorry-I'm not /u/Uncomfortable, so this isn't a critique. But in answer to your question most if not all digital art programs allow you to rotate the "canvas" of your work, so you can rotate your drawing on the computer screen to whatever suits you.

Draw 250 boxes completed! http://imgur.com/a/dsoa7
Again sorry about the image quality-sucky phone camera. The first four images were auto edited, the later ones weren't as that made sections of the page too bright, so I left them with less contrast.
I ran into trouble most often when I either didn't have a concise idea of what to do with the particular box, or when I was trying to be a smart arse and not start with the Y, which is what cause most of the crossings out.
Also something that I annoyed myself doing was putting down an edge at a particular angle and then realising that angle was either too steep in relation to the opposite edge or too parallel in relation to the central Y, but then once it's drawn...(mutter mutter ruddy pen mutter mutter). Likely a product of rushing.
On the other hand when I was certain of what I wanted I found I was much more able to visualize it in my head and it resulted in better boxes. I quite like my No. 158, 159, 160, 161 and 164 "snake"and some of the places where I've tried to redraw the same box at a different angle like 48 and 49.
Edit: I notice looking at the photos I missed correcting some of them, notably no. 120 and 213 apologies.
I humbly beseech thy critique oh sage.

I was thinking about this. How about insread ofanother subbreddit, you attach a forum to Drawabox.com? That may need some extra work, servers and getting moderaters etc. But I do think forums are much better at fostering community spirit than a sub reddit is. Allowing people to start forum sketchbook thread's will make it much more easy to see where they've come from, to see if they have any lingering issues etc. Over a a sub reddit where making a thread can get clunky because of the up voting and down voting.
What do you think.
