Hi Ivan!

Lines

  • Superimposed lines: looks good to me. There is some arcing but your flow improves in confidence as you move forward.

  • Ghosted lines & ghosted planes: you did a fair job plotting the beginning and the end of each mark and connecting them through a wide, confident gesture. Very nice.

Ellipses

  • Table of ellipses: I can see that you are making some progress throughout the exercise, as the first ellipses do not look very confident, yet the next ones are very good. You definitely have the right gesture. Your accuracy is very good, you manage to touch every guideline most of the times.

  • Ellipses in planes look good too

  • Funnels look nice and the ellipses are fairly well aligned

Boxes

  • Plotted perspective looks ok, you have understood the concept. There is one instance of a box with distortion, but that's fine as you have been experimenting.

  • Rough perspective looks nice too, the convergence are fairly accurate. Just remember to ghost all your marks all the time!

  • Rotated boxes shows that, although you have some trouble positioning them, you do understand that, in order to obtain the rotation effect, you need to shift the vanishing points.

  • Organic perspective is good, nice effort applying line weight to the construction line. The perspectives look a bit awkward, but that is fair enough - you still have time to practice with the upcoming exercises!

All in all I would say that this is a strong body of work and that you are good to move on to the box challenge! =)

Next Steps:

Move on to the 250 box challenge!

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
