Hey! I'll be reviewing your homework today.

First of all, congrats on finishing all the exercises!

Arrows

Your arrows are pretty good! The lines are confident and smooth and there's no repetition, the arrows have a sense of movement, but most of them are not compressing much to give the perspective effect we are looking for, so try to make the spacing between the lines bigger/smaller as the move towards/farther away form the viewer, like this

**Organic forms***

You did a great job on this one, your shapes are simple as they should be, the ellipses are drawn through, they change their degrees according to the direction of the shape, they are aligned with the axis lines and are inside the shape, also your contours are hooked, so well done!

Texture analysis

I'm not sure if you forgot to do this one or just didn't do, if it's the later i think you should give it a try, because it's an important exercise.

Dissections

You did a great job on changing the silhouette of the sausage according to the texture and also wrapping the texture around so we can have that depth sense, but I'd be more careful with trying to draw the cast shadows instead of the lines you see, this example might help a bit.

But overall you did a good job!

Form intersections

I think you did a good job here as well, the lines are confident and well planned, the ellipses are drawn through, but i see you repeated some lines on the first page, which is something to avoid.

Organic Intersections

In this one you did well on drawing the simple forms, drawing through them and the shading is pretty good in most part, but some of your sausages are kind of floating around, i think this is more a matter of practice but it helps to think of the shapes as water balloons that fall on the top of each other, so they kind of wrap around each other.

As i said, your shadows are good overall, but remember that they kind of wrap around the shape underneath them, like this

These are minor observations, but i hope they are useful.

Again congrats on finishing the homework, hopefully this review was useful somehow and i think you're ready for Lesson 3!

Next Steps:

On to Lesson 3!

Thank you for reviewing my homework.

I did do the Texture analysis exercise, but it was not uploaded fore some reason. So here it is https://imgur.com/a/3Paq36e

Your observations are useful for me as I do some of these exercises in warmup.

Sorry about the delay, i've been kinda busy.

Your texture analysis exercise is good, but you could try to make the drawings darker as they get closer to the black bar so we can't really tell where the black bar is.

Good luck with your studies!

Sakura Pigma Microns

Sakura Pigma Microns

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
