Some old sketches im working on

is it really necessary that I finish the challenges?
and im confused with the challenges?
which challenges do i do after lesson 1? when do i do the cylinders and the treasure boxes?
The only mandatory challenges are the 250 box challenge, 250 cylinders and 25 wheels in the following suggested order:
Lesson 1 -> 250 boxes -> Lesson 2-5 -> 250 cylinders -> Lesson 6 -> 25 wheels -> Lesson 7
The other challenges are optional however it's generally suggested if you want to tackle the treasure chest challenge, you do so after you've completed lesson 7 as it's more of a design challenge and such things are far easier if you have a solid foundation.
In terms of the texture challenge, which is also optional, you can tackle this any time after lesson 2 as this lesson introduces the concepts of texture needed for the challenge.
Hope that helps.
thank you so much
I dig those sketches!
Meta is exactly right, and if you want a visual representation for whatever reason I have everything laid out (when you do certain exercises as well as the order for all the challenges and such) HERE
thanks man
This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.
When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.
Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
