You can really see some of your mistakes then you look at your work after some time. Still have a long way to go, but it's really good to see that you make at least some progress. Thank you for the feedback :3

First of all, congragts on finishing to lesson 2. Keep up the good work!!

Your organic arrow work looks pretty good. There isn't much to say - there are overlapping edges, there is perspective, there are confident lines. Very good.

Organic forms with contour ellipses looks pretty good as well. Although some ellipses seem like they float arbitrarily, they're mostly good and drawn with confidence with minimal wobble. And you could align some ellipses better as well, but it's not much of a problem. Organic forms with contour lines look good as well, but the only problem I have is that I wish you drew your organic forms according to the requirements - simple with no swelling or pinching, end points in equal sizes. But it isn't a big problem for me as your ellipse work shows that you understand that concept as well.

On texture analysis work, I have some problems. Firsrtly, you didn't do crumpled paper texture - that was one of the requirements for this homework. Secondly, in the boxes that you were supposed to analyze, dense areas go a bit to far and there isn't a white block at the end of the box as much as the black block at beginning. And I think it would be better if you didn't wrap around the cone texture on this homework. Despite all of this, I think your texture work is really good.

On dissections, textures look pretty good. But I wish you didn't put a very sparse area of texture in the middle. It makes a too abrupt of a transition. Instead, I think making the edges denser would've worked better. This would also help you wrap the texture around better, as you didn't do this especially in octopus and coconut. And trying to put textures on -imaginary- contour lines would help as well.

Your form intersections look pretty good as well - solid forms with thought out intersections. Only thing is the one the requirements of this homework was dedicating one page of this homework only to boxes. Other than that, pretty good.

Lastly, organic intersections look very good. Only thing you could improve is that when a form is on top of a circular object, shadow of the form on top would wrap on the form underneath. The shadow wouldn't have straight edges, but circular edges that fit the shape of the form underneath instead. All thing good other than that.

Overall, I think you're a very good and capable drawer. Your homeworks look very good. But I'll request a revision - not because you're work is bad, but because you missed some requirements. Those requirements would be a page of organic forms with contour lines (keep in mind that you're only requested to work on simple organic forms.), texture analysis of a crumpled paper (I think only one texture will be enough, please consider my warnings for density analysis.) and form intersections only with box. I'm requesting contour lines homework because it's an easy homework, and since I requested a revision for other reasons, I think it will be helpul that you redo that page as well. I also suggest that you re-read the instructions for the homeworks I requested, I think it will be helpful.

I hope that this isn't too much of a request. I'm sure you can do it no problem, as I think you're very good at what you're doing. See you soon!!

Next Steps:

I'm requestin one page of organic forms with contour lines, one texture analysis for crumpled paper, and one page of form intersections only with boxes. For contour lines, just go with simple forms. For texture analysis, be mindul with density analysis. Good luck.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Thank you so much for the feedback! It was very helpful! I hope I did everything right this time. Please, take a look here

Revisions look very good as well. As I said before, your drawings look really good, and I cannot suggest anything other than that you should keep on doing what you're doing. Have fun drawing plants and more beatiful things!

Next Steps:

Keep your lines clean and confident. Wrap your textures around. And enjoy!!

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
