2:24 AM, Saturday June 12th 2021
Hello if you have any advice or critiques for my homework for this lesson please say so. Thank you!
hello blanket5 you've submitted your first drawabox lesson, congratulations for getting started. i'll critique youe work now.
Lines:
On the superimposed lines part you seem to be hesitating and that caused the lines to be some what wobbly, remember always execute your lines with confidence.
on the ghosted lines you did very well no fault here
Planes:
you did well ghosting the planes however i noticed some of the lines has been repeated. this is not what you should be doing if you made a mistake do not try to correct it.
ellipses:
you did well on the tables of ellipses part
the ellipses in planes is also well executed no fault here
the funnels however you need to make sure the ellipses are alligned correctly on the minor axis this is a very important thing to keep inmind, when you warm up i suggest you try to keep the minor axis of the ellipses paralleled to each other
boxes:
you did well on the plotted perspective
the problem arrises when you did the rough perspective however you seemed to be repeating the lines you did incorrectly remember mistakes are okay do not try and fix them
the rotating boxes made the same mistakes as on the rough perspective, remember mistakes are okay do not fix them
organic perspective you did remarkably on this, however you seem to still be trying to fix you lines this has been said too many times already however remember to not go over your mistakes. other than this when you make the Ys remember to make all the angles over 90° and remember that all lines must converge to a single vanishing point
this is all i have to say well done on your submissions you can move on to the 250 boxes challenge now.
Next Steps:
move on to the 250 boxes challenge
Thank you for your critique I will be sure to not try to correct the lines I made mistakes on. I tend to do this on an impulse, a bad habit I need to fix. I appreciate your feedback! Thank you!
Im glad to be of help :)
Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
