My 250 Box Challenge

I accidently did a few extras as I wean't very good at counting

In my notes D stands for Divergence (or that the line wasn't converging enough) and C means there was too much convergence

Good job, your convergences improved a lot, your lines took a little longer and arent still that good. If you had put more effort in the hatching, trying to use straight lines to shade one face of the boxes, you would have improved your lines a lot. But they are good.

Nice work keeping some notes and thinking on how you could do better, I noticed you worked on some line weight too, they aren't super accurate but have improved a lot too, but i noticed sometimes you have put them in the wrong place, just remember to add the weight in closest lines to the viewer.

Next Steps:

Proceed to lesson 2.

Thanks for the review Dougaiko,

I found the boxes very hard. I'm carrying on doing them as warm ups to improve them.

Good point on the line weight I'll be more considerate about where I put them

Hey, thanks for pointing that out, I'll remember that in the future. Those ones in there aren't anything important.

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
