Congrats on completing the first lesson!! I hope you keep doing the exercises and working on getting better!

  • Your lines are good and confident, no major problems in it, and it's very interesting to practice a lot of curves too! Some arched a little to left, try to consciously arch the opposite direction so you can do the straight line.

  • Remember that the ellipses need to be as confident as the lines, some of them wobbled, maybe it happened because you don't have mastered your shoulder yet, it's really ok, just keep practicing it. The ellipses must be drawn through 2 to 3 times, some were drawn more times.

  • Your boxes are good and you should be fine doing the 250 boxes challenge.

Next Steps:

Go to the 250 boxes and always remember to warmup before doing them! Have fun!

Thank you so much for your feedback! Ellipses section is quite a challenge for me, I surely need to keep on practicing to draw from my shoulder :)

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
