Don't worry about the added lineweight not being too noticable, it looks fine to me. I did notice that on some boxes (like 71, 83, 108, 109) you repeated the lines. Don't forget that confidence is more important here than accuracy! Same goes for adding lineweight, going over once is enough.

Good job overall!

Next Steps:

Go on to lesson 2.

You didn't add line weight which is important to help you boxes look solid. https://drawabox.com/lesson/250boxes

Other than that it looks like you understood the point of the exercise. Goodjob! Keep improving your convergences.

Next Steps:

It's important you go back and add lineweight as shown here https://drawabox.com/lesson/250boxes

" One technique that is extremely useful both in reinforcing the illusion of solidity in our forms and in helping to organize our linework and clarify how different forms overlap is the use of line weight. " After you do that I say move on to lesson 2

I tried to keep the lines subtly thicker as advised in the instructions but now it seems to me it's not even noticable in some cases... Anyway, at least I got better at keeping the lines confident, I think.

Thanks for the feedback, by the way!

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
