Hahaha, no worries - it does often seem that way, but in all fairness I've also prioritized my health and sanity, so I'm no longer devoting the kind of hours I used to spend on Drawabox, and am instead forcing myself to take my evenings, to take more of my weekends, etc. Not always possible given the other projects/jobs ongoing, but I've definitely accepted that at the end of the day, what people know Drawabox as is what it is today - not a promise of what it will be eventually. So regardless of how long it takes, I see the work on the overhaul as something that is continuing to give more, rather than repaying owed debt.

Unfortunately right now there isn't much for the community to do, aside from being patient with me.

It's really good to hear that you don't do too much of the draw a box stuff and such.

Health and sanity is the most important thing there is.

Well the community can't help right now but I'm sure you'll let us know when we can help you.

I believe that everyone especially the ones who are past the 250 box challenge have more that enough patient and will be hyped for everything that may happen with draw a box.

Thanks for making it free for everyone and having such a good course.

The Art of Blizzard Entertainment

While I have a massive library of non-instructional art books I've collected over the years, there's only a handful that are actually important to me. This is one of them - so much so that I jammed my copy into my overstuffed backpack when flying back from my parents' house just so I could have it at my apartment. My back's been sore for a week.

The reason I hold this book in such high esteem is because of how it puts the relatively new field of game art into perspective, showing how concept art really just started off as crude sketches intended to communicate ideas to storytellers, designers and 3D modelers. How all of this focus on beautiful illustrations is really secondary to the core of a concept artist's job. A real eye-opener.
