Hi there!
Good work with Lesson 1.
Lines:
-
Superimposed Lines look good, you do a good job of aligning your pen to the start point of the line. I do see a bit of [wobbling] (https://https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/8/wobbling) in some lines, though, so do be careful. When you revisit this for warm up, make sure to draw smoothly and confidently, and not to draw too slow.
-
Ghosted Lines look great for the most part! Occasionally, your lines will wobble, so again, try to draw smoothly and confidently, and don't draw too slow. Make sure that you prioritize making a smooth/straight line over accuracy. It can also help if you ghost more.
-
Ghosted Planes look good as well, again, sometimes your lines will wobble, so watch out for that.
Ellipses:
-
Table of Ellipses seem fine. I like that you draw through your ellipses, and you do a pretty good job of hitting the boundaries although there is occasional overlapping. In your first page, a few of your ellipses have a bit of wobble, but I barely see any in the second page; good work! Do try to watch out for wobbling, and like the lines, keep your ellipses smooth. Ghosting more helps a lot for ellipses, I've found.
-
Ellipses in Planes are great! There are similar issues, but they're drastically reduced here, and all your ellipses are well-aligned with the edges of the plane.
-
The Ellipses in the Funnels are smooth and align with the minor axis. No issues here :)
Boxes:
-
Plotted Perspective looks great!
-
Rough Perspective is nice. It looks like you may have drawn some lines with a ruler (that or you're really good at ghosting), so make sure that the only lines drawn with a ruler is the frame and the horizon line. Everything else should be drawn with the ghosting method. Also, remember that all lines other than the depth lines (the ones that go toward the vanishing point) should be parallel or perpendicular to the horizon line.
- As a side note, if you do hatch the faces of your boxes, you want to hatch all of the faces. Hatching is optional, however.
-
No major issues with your rotated boxes, you kept your boxes together, and we work on skills that help the rotated boxes exercise in the 250 box challenge.
-
Organic Perspective looks fine as well, but next time when you do this exercise, keep in mind that you're supposed to do multiple frames, like in the Rough Perspective exercise.
Overall, nice job! I think you're good to go for the 250 box challenge. I recommend that you work on your ghosted lines and your ellipses in your warm-ups for the future (I like to practice both at once by doing ghosted planes and then drawing ellipses in those planes).
Next Steps:
250 box challenge!
Make sure to revisit lesson 1 exercises for ten to fifteen minutes of warm-up before your drawing sessions.
Have fun with your boxes!
