Hi, I've been wanting to draw for a very long time now but I never got to it because I was always distracted or I felt and thought it wasn't for me. I've always had these paracosms in my head that I've always wanted to put on paper but I never did it because I either I got too lazy, I didn't believe in myself or I got distracted with other things. So I when I saw this I hoped that I may be able to learn how to draw properly so that one day I may be able to fufill my sleeping destiny.

For your superimposed lines, it looks like there is a bit of wobbling but overall they look pretty good. Your ghosted lines also have some wobbles but that will get better with time and practice. Your ellipses in planes have minimal deformation and many of them touch all four sides so well done there. In some of the box exercises I noticed some dark marks over the lines. I'm guessing this was an attempt to fix some less than perfect lines but this ends up making things look messy. I suggest aiming for one confident stroke and don't worry about it being perfect. Your accuracy will improve over time as you practice.

There are inconsistencies with your ellipses on your first table of ellipses. You want to aim to draw ellipses of the same degree within the same section. Your second page of ellipses looks more on track of what to aim for with this exercise. I recommend reviewing and completing 1 page of the table of ellipses exercise. For the rough perspective exercise, some of the depth lines are not extended to the horizon line and instead it looks like you picked a point to plot to the horizon line but that information doesn't help. It looks like there was a bit of guessing when plotting your lines so they end up not converging anywhere near the vanishing point. I would recommend reviewing the rough perspective and completing 2 pages of the exercise. For the rotated boxes exercise, the instructions say to draw 2 on either side of the center one and it looks like you have 3 boxes on three of the sides and 4 on the top. Also, your boxes don't look like they are rotating so I recommend reviewing this lesson and trying again. The rotated boxes exercise is difficult and while you don't need to worry about the result being perfect, following instructions will help you get the most out of these lessons.

Next Steps:

Review and complete 1 page of table of ellipses. Review and complete 2 pages of rough perspective. Review and complete rotated boxes.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Hello there, I know it's been almost 2 months since you last replied. I took a "break" per say but it was really just me angry at myself for my lack of skills. I returned back to give Drawing a 3rd shot and I seem to be better than the last time. Like Uncomfortable said, it's all about patience and overtime I will improve. Getting a fresh look at things again, I even looked at other videos such as pivots and ghosting. I learned more from watching those videos again after coming from my hiatus than I did watching them the first time when I was trying Drawabox.

Anyway I redid the pages you wanted me to re-do, I said what I said above because others can learn from my reaction in their futures and I wanted to explain my long hiatus.

Uncomfortable was right, it's all about patience and overtime skills will improve.

Welcome back! Learning new skills can be challenging but also very rewarding. These homework assignments are meant to be difficult but that is why it is good to spend 50% of your drawing time on just having fun and now worrying about the end result too much.

Your new pages show lots of improvement. Your ellipses look clean and consistent. Be sure to ghost each line for your boxes and aim for that one confident stroke. Overall, well done and I think you are ready to move on to the 250 box challenge. Good luck with your boxes and don't forget to draw for fun!

Next Steps:

Move on to the 250 box challenge.

I want to know If I should repeat the repeat the Rotated Boxes excersie. I only used 2 boxes for it's X and Y axis. But it isn't a sphere or sphere like. It still has that Bent CubishShape.

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
