Hello am tempestsnow and I'll be dropping some critics on your submission. Am still a learning so I'll critics it with my current ability.

Firstly: the arrows construction: the lines are too rough and wobbly, it creates distraction for viewers. Think of the paper as a space and create an arrow in the space in your mind, visualize the way it looks and try to put it down on the paper confidently. Make one stroke at a time and think about how to draw the other on it. I'll love to see a resubmission of this exercise and I'll drop you some image if it'll help. And also watch the video and read the texts on it for more understanding

2: leaves construction: it looks a bit flat try understanding the flow of each leaf

3 branches exercise: when drawing this, the information says that when a line is draw pass the ellipse the second line must also be draw on the tip of the first line. You'll understand this more if you cross check the notes

Plants with only constructions: you tried but some lines are rough and wobbly, it's not creating the illusion of 3d, it's like you're drawing on a flat form.

Plants with texture: there's no much texture on the plant, like shadows, line weight ....

I noticed something while checking through your submission, you try to correct a line by making another one on it which is wrong. Be patient and focus a lot on understanding the lesson.

Next Steps:

2 page of arrow exercise

1 page of leaves exercise

1 page of branches exercise

1 plant based on construction only and 1 with texture

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Staedtler Pigment Liners

Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
