Lesson 6: Applying Construction to Everyday Objects

I'm still having trouble with arbitrary curves, gutting them to go where I want to, even with ghosting. On top of that, when adding line weight, I can't get the curves on top of each other, leading to a lot of the mess that you see. Same for ellipses. I swear that everyday, before I do a page of these lessons, as warm up, I practice the line drawing exercises from lesson one, the branch exercise and a couple dozen ellipses. Maybe I missed the point in those lessons and am doing something wrong, or maybe it's just a matter of practice.
I also struggled with rotating boxes in perspective, e.g. the head of the guitar or the back of the chair. Too late I realized that you teach how to rotate objects in perspective in the treasure chest challenge. Since that challenge isn't linked to directly in the lessons, I wonder if that means you think it's better just to wing rotations until you get a feel for them, or to practice them rigorously.
