Hello! Already started DaB a few years ago, but didn't get that far (got to Textures and dropped at that point due to life shenanigans), so now decided to go for it again :D I did feel rusty so started from the very beginning instead of picking up where I stopped.

Should I move on to Lesson 2 or re-tackle 250 Boxes again as well?

Also have to admit: I am not keeping up with the rule of 50/50, really not sure how I can draw anything when boxes and circles give me trouble.. Although I was looking into attempting Gesture Drawing in my free time! Is this a good idea or, if not, what other ideas I could use for 50/50 rule?

well since u are a veteran i see you remember your most of the concepts and you know whats hard and whats not.

for the superimpose lines i suggest draw straight lines without slowing then try putting your pen on the starting point again as it well make your muscle memory remember how you did it again.

as for the organic perspective it is more about trying to rote the boxes and the farther they go the smaller they seem and the closer they are the bigger they seem.

i think you should do the 250 box again just to get you back in shape and maybe watch the lessons again, like

you can do along with her.

Next Steps:

I think you get all the exercises purpose but i would definetly suggesst to do the boxes again so that your muscle becomes good again.

Oooh, thank you for the critique and a channel recommendation! I usually put on some other people doing art in the background while doing exercises, did not have an idea to put other people's doing same exercises though! Will definitely try.

The Science of Deciding What You Should Draw

The Science of Deciding What You Should Draw

Right from when students hit the 50% rule early on in Lesson 0, they ask the same question - "What am I supposed to draw?"

It's not magic. We're made to think that when someone just whips off interesting things to draw, that they're gifted in a way that we are not. The problem isn't that we don't have ideas - it's that the ideas we have are so vague, they feel like nothing at all. In this course, we're going to look at how we can explore, pursue, and develop those fuzzy notions into something more concrete.
