Hey there, I saw that you haven't received any review of your submission, so I will do my best to give you some feedback.
- Lines
-
Your lines are smooth that is a good thing, always prioritizing confidence over accuracy is important :)
-
I notices some fraying on both ends of your lines. While fraying at the end of your lines is a normal thing to happen, you want to take your time and move your pencil to your starting point so that no fraying happens at the start of the line
-
It's also a good thing that you are plotting your lines correctly and don't have any real arcing going in your lines, good job!
- Ellipses
-
Your ellipses are falling a little short, good job on doing 2 to 3 laps, but maybe try to course correct your ellipses to the correct boundaries while doing so, don't be afraid to overshoot.
-
Your ellipses are smooth and the degrees you apply seem to be consistent.
-
For the funnels: try drawing the arcing lines first and after that put the minor axis in the middle, that way it's easier to hit the middle
-
It seems you like to experiment with the exercises, but please do the exercises as they are described and follow them to the word. The minor axis is meant to give orientation and should cut your ellipses in perfect halves, however you tried to do some different angled ellipses inside the funnels, what is not the point of the exercise
- Boxes
-
Good job drawing through your boxes!
-
Plotted perspective looks really good!
-
Rough perspective: Horizontal lines are meant to be parallel to the horizon line and vertical lines are meant to be perpendicular to the horizon line, i know you are trying to experiment, but please follow the instructions so you get most of these exercises
-
You are using the wrong line correction method, as you should not trace lines back to the vanishing point, but instead trace your original lines back to the horizon line, to see how far off you were. The way you did it, it's hard to tell where you went wrong
-
Rotated Boxes exercise looks really great, nothing to add here
-
Organic perspective looks good, only thing I would add is line weight to the overlapping areas of the lines (not the whole line, though)
Overall you did a great job and showed good understanding of the concept that were being taught.
However, I would highly recommend doing the exercises in fineliner on real paper, it's a different feel and is harder to get right. Working digitally gives you some auto-smoothing based on the software you are using, which makes your lines appear more straight than they might actually be. It's not about doing nice looking submissions, but to see mistakes and enhance your markmaking ability.
Also I almost didn't see any wrong marks, therefore I am assuming that you undid some of them, making reviewing only your best marks almost pointless.
You seem to have some advanced drawing skills, but you should be following the instructions nonetheless.
Cheers
Henni
Next Steps:
You are free to move to the 250 Box Challenge and after that lesson 2, in case you did not already do those already.
