Welcome! First impressions of the homeworks looks like you've got the core concepts, however before you move on, you should get a fineliner ink pen to use. (See https://drawabox.com/article/ink) Using a ballpoint pen is an exception for lesson 1.

Lines

  • Ghosted planes are missing the cross lines, but non-the less your lines are nice and confidant :)

Ellipses

  • Nicely controlled tables of ellipses, and looks like you nailed the rest of the exercises for this section

Boxes

Next Steps:

Give rotated boxes another go, and you should be good to move onto the 250 box challenge.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Agree! The ellipse tables especially stood out as being very well done, and the rotated boxes looked relatively flat with a little variance in the corners.

Thanks a lot for the honest feedback. I'll redo the rotated boxes lesson. :)

Also, I am using a fine liner pen itself - maybe it doesn't come across as that in the photos.

I would recommend getting a black fineliner pen to avoid future confusion. The green marker reads as a ballpoint pen.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
