Does anyone have any recommendations for a good portrait drawing course?

One question: In your opinion would someone with extremely limited knowledge of drawing fundamentals still be able to get a lot of this course? Like does he assume you already have a certain level of skill?

In most courses what you learn here will be needed in the future. So if I could give you any advice I would focus on drawabox, especially to get comfortable with cylinders and boxes in space placement, as these are the foundations of drawing.

I've been in that place too, I wanted to take portraits or drawing complex things right away, but sometimes it's worth taking a step back to get up to speed, and drawabox will make you get so much more out of each course.

Ok, thank you. I might break down and just commit to DAB. It's so daunting though.

Hi iam Karthika

The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something I've used myself. If you're interested, here is a full list.
Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
