Hi there,

Great work with box drawings, you can really see the progress from the beginning all the way through to til the end.

Couple things that came to my attention:

  • Some extended lines went the wrong way, but you noticed them and "x"-ed them out. Not a big deal at all, just wanted to mention it.

  • You boxes seem to converge nicely, you really notice the change in the boxes after the first 100, you really got into a great rhythm of drawing. Killer job.

  • Noticed some repeat lines, but this doesn't take away from the end goal. Just be confident in your first line, and if it is a mistake, just take it as a learning point and don't get hung up on one line.

  • You stopped hatching lines, not an issue since it's optional, but it makes looking at the box a little difficult.

Next Steps:

Overall, like previous stated, you did a great job. I think you are ready to move on to the next lesson stuff. Great work again and keep it up.

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
