Hi Elodin! Really thanks a lot for the critique, the truth is that you were faster than me; I wanted to do 5 critiques so I could post it on the critique exchange channel, though my rate of critique's and drawing has been pretty lowered because I'm gone from home for a week and also I think I overstressed my wrist and is currently giving me some pain. I'm using this week to relax a little and to implement some stretches (which are being really helpful) to get a better long run. If you know some good exercises or stretches for the wrist and forearm I'll be grateful to listen, I have found some myself but I figured you could have some more experience with this!

Anyways (sorry for that little vent), the demo you did for one of the cylinders really helped me to finally settle the concept; I think I played around the concept of using the relationship of the angles of the lines to guess how much convergence they should have, but seeing the concepts as you explained them I think it helped to finally click in my head!

You are right about my minor axis, I tend to do them a little off so I tried ghosting the major axis, though from now on I will try out putting down the dots, I think it will definitely help me out.

Again, thanks a lot for the critique and all the help you give out on the discord, sorry for the long reply, I'm so excited to being back to Draw a Box!

No worries! You've already done a ton of critiques so you don't need to do the 5 critique thing haha.

For the wrist thing I recommend to check it with your doctor as soon as possible if you can. For the exercises I'm not an expert, but I do these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdD7CgN5FGg&. I had some wrist problems too and when I went to the doctor they recommended me to get a wristband as well to use it when sleeping and it has helped a lot. The main important thing I got told was to stop when I get pain, so if it starts hurting just go rest, don't push through.

Okay! I was thinking about going to a doctor, though I wasn't sure, now I'm definitely going to visit one.

Thanks for the video and the advice!

The Art of Blizzard Entertainment

While I have a massive library of non-instructional art books I've collected over the years, there's only a handful that are actually important to me. This is one of them - so much so that I jammed my copy into my overstuffed backpack when flying back from my parents' house just so I could have it at my apartment. My back's been sore for a week.

The reason I hold this book in such high esteem is because of how it puts the relatively new field of game art into perspective, showing how concept art really just started off as crude sketches intended to communicate ideas to storytellers, designers and 3D modelers. How all of this focus on beautiful illustrations is really secondary to the core of a concept artist's job. A real eye-opener.
