Hi,

I have attached 2 links as below for my 250 boxes assignment.

There are a couple of problems that I have been made aware of in previous submission critics (by SCYLLASTEW and SEVEY13). I really apologize for any repeated issues in this challenge because I had completed these boxes before I submitted my lesson 1. I am working on lesson 2 as well as all the critics in lesson 1 at the moment. Thank you so much.

Howdy, TA qzhans here!

Before we begin, I just want to congratulate you on giving those 250 boxes a good ol’ pen and ink smackdown. It is a MASSIVE undertaking and you’ve joined the prestiged club of its completers.

You’ve painstakingly drawn through all your boxes and extended every single last line out to check your errors, and your boxes have been better for it. Indeed, you’ve made a marked improvement throughout the set, with some of the boxes on that final page reaching laser cut precision.

In general, I like your linework here. In the beginning, you had quite a few boxes where you had really sketchy lines, but that seems to have ironed out towards the end. I do wish you would've experimented with line weight a bit more, however.

Also, although you've done a pretty good job with convergences, some of your middle back lines are still stubbornly not jumping in line with the rest of them. That’s okay, and is something that gets ironed out over time, but I’ll offer some advice. When you go to draw a line, think only about the lines that are supposed to be parallel to it (share a vanishing point). Lines closer to an existing line will converge slower, while the opposite is true for lines further away.

Additionally, you have drawn a lot of your boxes quite small. If you're going to use this page size, there should be a few pages where you fill the entire thing with the box, etc. Right now, most of your boxes are about the same size.

Overall, your internal understanding of convergence seems to be coming along quite nicely, and I don't think the nitpicks that I have are worth holding you from the rest of your journey. Good luck on Lesson 2!

Hi QZHANS,

I am really thankful for your feedbacks and analysis of my works. It truly ascertains me about the way converging line works and puts a strong concrete to my understanding of boxes!

Thank you for your golden principal and advices!

Staedtler Pigment Liners

Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
