These HWks look very nice and clean though I do want to stress that you make sure you are executing confident strokes. Throughout the homeworks (especially up through the elipses,) It appears that a lot of your lines are wobbly, even if only slightly, indicating that you didn't go into the stroke with full confidence. Remember, it is better to make a confident stroke and miss the mark than to make an uncomfidant stroke and hit the mark. This is especially important as you build your foundation. Make sure to embrace imperfection and mistakes as that means you are doing it right :D

Holy goodness, your rotated box HW is gorgeous!

Next Steps:

Make sure to execute your lines with confidence as you move on to the 250 box challenge. If you maintain good form in this challenge, you will get plenty of practice and will come out of it with much straighter and more confident lines. Happy drawing!

Hi Trizzle. Thanks for your words. I will try to work on ellipses to improve my lines. I think it was the most difficult exercise for me.

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
