I'll be reviewing your work!

Lines

  • I didn't noticing anything wrong in the exercises. In Superimposed Lines, you did everything good, so did in Planes and Ghosting Lines, you understood very well!

Ellipses

  • I'm scared of your work. The ellipses overall are pretty good, pretty confident and very nice. In Table of Ellipses, your ellipses seem to struggle at first, without any confidence, but it improved after the second page, good job!

  • WIth your Ellipses in Planes there are parts where ellipses don't touch the edge, but it is only a few of it and very confident!

Boxes

  • Nothing really much to say here. There needs to be some hatching in the boxes, but your boxes are believable and very nice.

  • Rough Perspective is really nice and you understood the lesson really well.

  • With Rotated Boxes, it is a little rough, lots of people struggle with it, but a note is that it should be parallel to the box right next to it, look through this again https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/17/step7, it can help you read the boxes easier.

Overall, very nice attempt in this lesson, you can move on to 250 Box Challenge

Next Steps:

250 Box Challenge!!!

Thanks a lot! That comment on my ellipses made my day :D. And yeah, I need more practice on well... everything, but the rotated boxes DEFINITELY need more work ( ;>~

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
