Post with 24 views.

Duration: 3 months 3 weeks

HOW I DO IT:

  • I usually draw line while holding pen with 70-80 degrees, is that normal i didnt know, just dont see people hold like that (usually so more woobling lines.

THOUGHT TO MY WORK:

  • Some of last boxes ( like 200-250 ) didnt change much in perspective, like boxes look kinda the same angle

  • Overshoot still to the end even it has been improve over time

  • Dirty

  • Cant achive perfect 3 point perspective converange to the end.

  • ONLY 1 Box that has 2 perspective

FINAL WORDS:

My last 5 boxes, is something i would never forget (especially the last), my heart pumping, i sweat , my hand little bit shaking, headache. The End to something i would never do if it was me from the past. I never draw good when i was a child. I grow up thinking Pen and ruler will never come with me, i dont even think about it. And now i sit there just try to draw BOXES. It's no fancy Work, no big of a deal, just BOX. And let me tell u box gave me courage, even though it's also gave me uncomfortable. You can see your mistake clearly when u see your own box.

I have try to copy some character of my fav and turn out it's not that's bad like i used to ( i can say it's less bad). And from time i grow love to the Box. Something like a finest straight line give me dopamine. and the frustrating when messing up is depressed.

My life is hard, but maybe if i can draw box, it will be just fine.

Hey Kisanto! Congratulations on conquering the mountain of boxes. 250 boxes man, what a journey. And you made it to the end. You should be proud of yourself.

On to the critique.

All of your lines are extending in the right direction. Good job.

There is very little divergence throughout your submission, and where there is you've done my job of pointing it out yourself. Really all your annotations show me you carefully analyzed each and every one of your boxes. Good work

You're hatching your boxes, and you're doing it very well on top of that.

You're doing a very good job at varying the orientation of your boxes, however as you've pointed out yourself there are very few boxes in 2 or 1 point perspective. I'd add them to my warm-up exercises but don't worry about it.

Altogether I'd say you improved greatly through the course of this challenge- all you boxes feel solid, the convergences are converging- through and through a great job

With all that said...

Next Steps:

You can move on to lesson 2! Congratsulations!!

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
