How do you think of box angles for the 250 Box Challenge?

I'm currently on about my 100th box right now, and I still fiercely struggle with creating perspective angles within my mind, because I seriously just can't seem to visualize it.

It's really frustrating and kind of demotivating honestly.

Would just sketching a box before actually drawing it be a fine approach?

Also, has anyone else had this visualization issue for this challenge?

Keep in mind that the variantion on the orientation of the box basically depends on your initial Y. To modify it, you can change the length on the each one of the 3 lines of the Y by making them shorter or longer.

Another thing you can do is to change the angles between the lines of each Y. (Keeping in mind that they should be all equal or wider than 90 degrees).

Here's a picture that might give you some ideas, you can study it, but make sure you don't use it on the box challenge exercises. When drawing a box on the challenge it should be straight from your imagination, 0 references.

This helped a lot, thank you so much.

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
