The page I linked you to from Lesson 0 (here, again) explains the rules associated with official critique. The short of it is that if you decide upon completing Lesson 2 to pursue official critique, ideally you'd start over from the beginning, with two basic exceptions that I don't openly list because I don't want to encourage people to try and get around those rules:

  • Your old Lesson 1 work can be submitted if for whatever reason it still represents your current skill level and understanding of the concepts.

  • You can submit your 250 box challenge work with 50 additional boxes done after your Lesson 1 work was marked as complete through official critique.

Nothing beyond that is permitted to be reused, so again - you will be doing your Lesson 2 work over.

Thank you for being patient with me. I missed "You effectively have until you're finished Lesson 1's homework to decide which track you'd like to take (without redoing anything)."

However this is fine as it's a long journey anyway so redoing a lesson doesn't seem that bad in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks again for everything

The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something I've used myself. If you're interested, here is a full list.
Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens

Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
