I feel like I'm making some progress, but it's still hard to negotiate the vanishing points of all the different sets of parallel lines. In box 8 and 9 I marked that I thought I shaded the wrong side, but when looking again it does look like those are the sides the face the viewer the most.

I started out trying to do 2 pages a day of boxes, but switched to just one and feel like the results are better since I can concentrate more.

Sometimes I plot the line in my head while ghosting and then as soon as I make the mark I can see that it's wrong. Is it ok to ignore those marks and try again, or do we want to commit to the mark we make even if we know it's way off? I guess I should take my time more so I don't have incorrect lines in the first place.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
