Well this lesson took longer than I would have liked. Still not sure if I did dissections correctly. Finding references with clear cast shadows for the texture tasks proved to be a massive task for most days (probably took 3-4 months to finish the two dissection pages), figuring them out and drawing them was fun though.

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Well done, you've done really well job completing the lesson but there are some parts that i think you should correct and work hard on. Don't worry about the time though just continue moving forward.

First of all, the arrows are done well with all the shading and perspective but the main problem is flow and line weight. There are little wiggle and jiggles on some arrows mostly on first page and you have kept the line weight same so it's a little bit confusing for few arrows to look real except all this you have done really good understanding the 3d stuff, overlapping.

Now for the contour ellipses, there are some mistakes like the ellipses are aligned pretty well but the degree is almost same, give your ellipses a bit of a shift in their degree as you run through the length of the form. Try to think if you cut it there how it will look and draw that and try to draw minimal ellipeses only when they're needed. First know why you're making a ellipse like where it bends there will be a shift of degree so you drew one there but think how will it look there and then ghost and draw without hestitation because flow is also a bit missing here too but it comes with practice so chill even if you didn't get anything just make hundreds and you will get it or look at flower stems and try to look where will you draw and how much degree and why.

Same problem (flow and same degree)with contour curves but its better than ellipses.

Now for texture analysis,In first column really well defined shapes just try to draw more texture you've simplified on a few areas i think but done well showing the confidence and understanding texture.

in second column , everthing great draw some in notes too if you feel like.

in third column , same problem, just try to draw more texture especially on the dark side. Make the transition from dark to light more good with texture but it looks good and will come with observation and practice.

Now for dissections, first it looks really cool dude, great job. But there are just some small mistakes , a few look flat so focus more on curvature and one more is try to focus more on cast shadows rather than outlining textural forms (except when they break the form's silhouette) otherwise it looks perfect and you've improved your contour ellipses and flow here good job.

Now for form intersections exercise ,you have done really really well, you drew same sizes shapes a few times, for instance draw more cuboids, i mean just vary them its really small mistake and there are a few intersection mistakes but for the first time it's really good job.

In the Organic Intersections exercise,

the forms are really stiff it's like you are afraid to draw or vary the simple sausage and they are few on first page. try to draw more and vary them think of them as water balloons and they are heavy so don't be stiff and the contour curves are kind of same for a few. Just don't be afraid and draw with confidence and draw more and experiment, vary them.

At last, well done. Do the lesson 3 and try this Organic Intersections exercise some more times or even regularly one page until you improve.

Thanks for the feedback! I do struggle quite a bit with ellipses in general to the point where the angle suffers due to me just trying to get the ellipse down without wobbling. I haven't found the sweetspot for speed yet where I remain in control yet don't correct it by eye as I go. I have plopped all of these exercises into my list of warmups, I'll try to melt my sausages more in the future.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
