Post with 16 views. DrawABox - Lesson 1

I submitted this already but was logged out at the time for whatever reason so if you see that other post please delete it. Sorry.

There may be other resources out there that work as well as this but I have enjoyed completing my first lessons worth of Drawabox. So I would like to thank Uncomfortable and his team for the chance to work through things and having a more structured approach to learning how to draw rather than "just drawing".

I have 0 art experience so this is my first shot and I think r/ArtFundamentals directed me here after a google search for ways to start learning. It may be worth noting that I have the dates at which I did each section and the time it took me to do them, so any comments about the frequency or time it took are welcome if constructive ("leave more time between each part to let them soak in", "hammer all of them in one day and finish them as quickly as possible" or "take more time for the x as it is important to be patient and do it carefully" etc).

Thank you for any help you can provide and I wish you all luck in your art.

The Science of Deciding What You Should Draw

The Science of Deciding What You Should Draw

Right from when students hit the 50% rule early on in Lesson 0, they ask the same question - "What am I supposed to draw?"

It's not magic. We're made to think that when someone just whips off interesting things to draw, that they're gifted in a way that we are not. The problem isn't that we don't have ideas - it's that the ideas we have are so vague, they feel like nothing at all. In this course, we're going to look at how we can explore, pursue, and develop those fuzzy notions into something more concrete.
