Hi, BipolarCookie. Good job on finishing this lesson.

Just took a look at your work and here's what I think.

Your superimposed lines are very good, with just a few of the longer ones wobbling a bit. Your ghosted lines are also very well done. Some of them have slightly arch, but going on to your ghosted planes I can see it improved. You also did a good job taking your time and placing dots for every line, including the inner ones.

Moving on to your ellipses, these are all very smooth and you did well keeping them aligned on the funnels exercise.

Your boxes are very solid. You managed to keep everything aligned in the rough perspective exercise and the depth lines are converging well. You also did a good job in the rotated boxes. You could have pushed the rotation a bit further in some of them, but I might be nitpicking here. On the organic perspective you kept a good flow from the smaller to the larger boxes, while not leaving much of a gap between them.

I noticed that during some exercises, especifically during rotated boxes and organic perspective, you have gone over the same lines more than once. Avoid doing this as it defeats one of the purposes of using ink, which is to plan your lines well. Plot your lines with dots, ghost them and draw with confidence. Not all lines will look good, but embrace the result and, when it's not so good, keep it in mind and do better next time. Don't try to cover your mistakes by drawing over them.

Overall your submission is very strong and you should feel free to start the box challenge.

Next Steps:

250 boxes challenge.

Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
