Hello Rosalinexo, I'll be reviewing your job, congrats on finishing lesson one :)!

Lines

Concerning to lines, I think you did a good job on the super-imposed lines. On the ghosted lines exercise, I think your lines tend to arc a little bit, so try to arc in the opposite direction next time so they compensate. On the ghosted planes exercise, you did a good job, you prioritizing confidence over accuracy.

Ellipses

About the tables of ellipses, the ellipses should be kept within the bounds without overlapping with other ellipses, and I find some of your ellipses suffer from not doing this. With the ellipses in planes, some ellipses are floating and they don't fit snugly into the planes. The funnels exercise has some of the issues of the two exercises previously mentioned: they don´t fit snugly and sometimes are too loose, and aren't aligned with the minor axis.

Now, I think the problem with ellipses lie in two main problems: confidence and velocity. Confidence because I see that when you "draw through" your ellipses you second guess and end up with 2 ellipses instead of one smooth, even shape. And velocity because I have find that sometimes, doing ellipses really fast can make it lose some of the accuracy and even confidence. So, my advice will be, watch this video , slow down a bit when drawing ellipses and keep practicing them during your warm-ups.

Boxes

Good job on plotted perspective and rough perspective, you nailed it and I see improvement from the 1st page to the second. Also good job on the rotated boxes exercise and organic perspective. Even though these are the hardest exercises, you accomplished the objective of each one and now I think you're ready for the 250 boxes challenge.

Next Steps:

Move on to the 250 boxes challenge. Make sure to use some of the exercises from the ellipses on this lesson as a warmup later on.

Thanks a lot for your help, I'm going to put you advice into practice and I hope I cope with the ellipses better then on :D

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
