Hey Giogiov,

Congrats on completing Lesson 1. Here are my thoughts on your submission:

Superimposed Lines A bit to much wobble. This will be important later on when adding line weight, so don't forget about it just yet

Ghosted Lines Also a bit wobbly. I fear you might not be drawing from your shoulder enough. Maybe allow yourself some(just a little) elbow support, so your hand isn't completely in air, but also not fully fixed. This might make your lines more consistent. Maybe also try drawing on a tilted surface.

Table of Ellipses Also wobbly. Accuracy is great, but you should prioritize confidence over accuracy.

Ellipses in Planes Ellipses are accurate but I fear that you are obsessing over touching all edges instead of trusting your ghosting method. Better to overshoot all edges than loose confidence in lines (first eliminate wobble, than improve accuracy and consistency)

Funnels There are a few really good ones. Keep it up.

Rough Perspective Lines are plotted nicely towards the Vanishing Point. You still struggle with line quality.

Organic Perspective Best Line quality I've seen from you. By far. Well done.

Next Steps:

250 Boxes

Practise some ghosted lines for about 10 minutes before drawing, this should get you started.

Thank you so much for the feedback! Greatly appreciated! Yeah...definitely going to have to agree with you there about the confidence. I just overthink it and get nervous because I want it to be perfect so I end up making them wobbly. Any advice for gaining confidence to just follow through on drawing lines? Thanks again and I'll definitely keep everything you said in mind.

find a suitable setting (posture, angle of approach, right angle for tilting the page)

and then keep practicing drawing lines using this specific setting. If you always draw from the same position you will improve quicker. Tilting the page and ghosting is very important as well. For each new line get the page ready so you get your favorite angle, then ghost the line until you feel confident you can make it. Not 2-3 times, but as many as you feel like you need. Often a single line takes me 15-20 seconds, but I feel like it's always worth it in the end.

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
